There is a medieval settlement at the current site of the Burgruine Hals at the narrowest point of the Halser Ilzschleifen. The town was the seat of the Lord of Hals, which was his earldom in 1280. In 1376 the Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV granted them a charter to the town and also provided it with coining rights (Münzrecht) until 1497. In 1803 the area was part of the royal district court of Passau. 1810 the town was devastated, as it was many times before, by a fire. Most of the remaining houses in the town, including the parish, were built shortly after the fire. In 1825, Hals received the status of a III Class town.
Since the Middle Ages timber rafting was an important economic factor for Hals. The powerful levees (Tiftsperre) were developed and the existing 115 m long tunnel was constructed from 1827 to 1831. Driving in Czechia and Germany: Silnice I-4 & Bundesstraße B12 from Vimperk to Freyung
In this video you can drive along on Silnice I/4 and Bundesstraße B12 from Vimperk to Freyung. This area on both the Czechian and German side is actually quite beautiful from a scenery perspective. We also reach some significant altitudes where you can still see snow in April!
The I/4 runs from Prague through the Bohemian Forest to the German border. As you have seen in previous videos uploaded to my channel, works are ongoing to upgrade most of the existing I/4 to a D4 motorway between at least Prague and Strakonice. Since I drove this part from Vimperk to Freyung on a public holiday I am not sure if the daily traffic here also warrants that upgrade.
I have visited the Bohemian region before and it's really beautiful with its many glowing hills and dense forests. I was surprised to see snow as well, there are a couple of ski lifts for the winter time. I have spotted ski slope directions on the German side as well, where the Bohemian forest basically becomes the 'Bavarian Forest'. A large part of it is a national park.

PASSAU. Tour to the best places to see for a trip at the town. (Bavaria/Germany)
Welcome back to a new video. Long time it was on my plan to make a trip to the town Passau, loceated at the corner of the southeast part of the federal state Bavaria in Germany. I knew this town only from stories from friends and other news. The special of this town is that three rivers flow together there. What can be better as to visit a town with a river experience this this.
The trip to Passau: I went by car to the town where the river Inn and the river Black Ils flow in the famous river Donau. I explored step by step the town and begun with the building which made the town famous. The Saint Stephans Dome cathedral. The bad surprise was that some corners were renovated as I´ve been inside but there was still enough space where every visitor could see the gold, the Engels, and the light modern altar. At next I went a little bit into the streets and came to place called Ludwigsplatz. Also interesting was the first cabaret house of Passau called “Schafrichterhaus”. Next to this house was a kind of port where I saw some cruise ships at the arriving process to Passau. At next I was walking to the final corner where the three rivers flow together. I´ve never been at a place like this and the interesting thing was that every river had another color according to its spring. For having lunch, I showed you the restaurant next to the fortress where you have a view to the entire town. I taste the classic Bavarian roast meat from the pork with beer sauce as well. After this great lunch I made a short stop at the fortress and enjoyed the view to Passau, the Donau for the end of my trip.
About Passau: Passau is a town loceated at a corner of the federal state Bavaria at Germany next to the low mountain range Bavarian Forest. The town has a city population of nearly 194.074 people according to the administration from 2021. The town is famous at first for the river Inn and the river called Black Ils which flow in the Donau. The black Ils has its spring at the center of the black forest and the Inn came from the Alps. This river has a mix of calk, sandy and water from the Alps inside and changes the Donau for some kilometers in a grew color. Also, Passau is known for its big influence of the catholic church. The holy ceremonies and masses at the Saint Stephans Dome are famous. Especially at Christmas and the Easter time where the bishop of the town Stephan Oster came to the Altar for the mass. To every time in the year the town is visited by tourists. Some time in the year the party Christ social union (CSU) from Bavaria made its party conferences there. From Passau it´s very simply to come by car, foot and train to the neighbor country Austria and in nearly 30 minutes to the Austrian town Linz.

[4KHDR] Driving in Germany: Bundesstraße B533 from Freyung to Hunding - Bavarian Forest Scenic Drive
In this video you can drive along on the Bundesstraße B533 from Freyung to Hunding in the Southeast of Germany. This scenic B-Road runs through parts of the Bavarian forest and the associated national park.
The B533 is an alternative route to the city of Deggendorf from the Czech border at Vimperk. Normally you would drive down to the A3 Autobahn and then drive North, although I felt like taking the scenic route. I was surprised to see quite a few ski lifts here and there and in some parts on I even saw snow (in April).
