San Marino is an independent mountainous microstate surrounded by Italian territory. Among the world’s oldest republic, it retains much of its historic architecture. The city was founded by Saint Marinus and several Christian refugees in the year 301. Its area is about 61.2 km square. Its flag has two colors – sky blue represents the “sky” and white represents “ snow/ice”. The three towers are also prominent on the flag.
On the mountain’s eastern ridge, a path links three towers, part of the city’s ancient defensive system. These include the Castello della Guaita, a small fortress with crenellated walls enclosing a watchtower. On the slope of Monte Titano sits the capital which is known for its medieval walled old town and narrow cobblestone streets.
More than three million people per year visit the city out of which 85% are Italian and developed as a tourist center. Cars are prohibited in much of the town center. It is the smallest country amongst the members of UN. Its also a member of European Union. Its GDP is 2.1 billion dollars, out of which 2.4% is spent on education, 0.2% on agriculture and 6.1% on health. There is no airport, no college, no university except High school.
San Marino do no accept dual nationality. Females have more rights than males. San Marino has scenic beauty and a beautiful place to visit.

REPUBLIKA SAN MARINO CZESC NR1
Obszar San Marino składał się jedynie z Monte Titano do 1463, kiedy to republika przystąpiła do sojuszu przeciwko Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, Panu Rimini, którego później pokonano. W rezultacie tych wydarzeń papież Pius II nadał San Marino miasta: Fiorentino, Montegiardino, i Serravalle.

Centro Storico Di San Marino in City of San Marino, San Marino
The City of San Marino is the capital city of the Republic of San Marino, Southern Europe. The city has a population of 4,044. It is on the western slopes of San Marino's highest point, Monte Titano.
San Marino is one of the world’s oldest republics and the only surviving Italian city-state, representing an important stage in the development of democratic models in Europe and worldwide. The tangible expressions of this long continuity as the capital of the Republic, its unchanged geo-political context and juridical and institutional functions, is found in the strategic position on the top of Mount Titano, the historic urban layout, urban spaces and many public monuments. San Marino has a widely recognised iconic status as a symbol of a free city-state, illustrated in political debate, literature and arts through the centuries. The defensive walls and the historic centre have undergone changes over time that include intensive restoration and reconstruction between the end of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century, a process that can be considered to be part of the history of the property and reflects changing approaches to conservation and presentation of heritage over time.
The 10 Things to Do in San Marino
Climb the three symbolic towers
Rocca Guaita (The First Tower)
Rocca Guaita (or The First Tower) is the most iconic of San Marino‘s three impressive fortresses located on the peaks of Mount Titano. It was built in the 10th century directly onto the rock with no foundations, and looks like it comes straight out of a story about medieval knights and dragons. Given its precarious position, it has been reconstructed many times throughout the centuries. Historically this was where the population of San Marino would take refuge against sieges – parts of the tower were still used as prisons up to as late as 1970! You can purchase a single entry ticket for this particular tower or a ticket that grants access to the second tower as well.
Castello Cesta (The Second Tower)
This castle was built at the end of the 11th century and was home to the Fortification Guards Division as well as a number of prison cells. However, much of the structure you see today is a reconstruction from 1930s, as the fortress fell into disrepair when it was no longer being used in the 16th century. It now houses the city’s Museum of Archaic Arms, a large collection of ancient and medieval weaponry and battle dress. This tower is must visit for military geeks or children still enchanted by knights and soldiers.
Montale (The Third Tower)
Montale is the smallest of the three towers and dates back to the end of the 13th century. In spite of its size, apparently for defensive purposes, it had a very strategic purpose: it is the best lookout post. It is encased in a primitive rock wall and has an eery prison cell that is eight metres deep. Entry is free.
State Museum of San Marino
The Republic of San Marino is one of the oldest and smallest nations in the world, and recently received the title of ‘least visited country in Europe’. This under-the-radar country is a living monument to an era in European history when city-states were common. While archaeological finds suggest settlement from as early as the 5th century BC, San Marino was officially consolidated as a political entity in the late 1200s during the Age of the Commune. The State Museum is the best place to learn about this fascinating history. It houses archaeological remains from the Neolithic period to the Middle Ages, coins and ancient Etruscan and Roman artefacts, well as 17th-century paintings and sculptures by the likes of Guercino. With entry at just USD$3.50, it’s definitely worth a visit.
L'Altro Gelato
L’Altro Gelato is the first ice cream shop in San Marino to use ingredients sourced solely from organic and biodynamic farms in the San Marino area. Young founders Samantha and Fabio have created unique Sammarinese gelato and semifreddo flavours, without additives. For example, ‘Happy Cow’: a Bucciatello ice cream with a mixture of Romagnole apricots and black sesame (its name is a dedication to the gelateria’s ethical supplier). Gelato is always the perfect accompaniment to a stroll around town, but especially when you know the cows are happy.
Piazza della Libertà
Piazza della Libertà was once the epicentre of political life in San Marino. Here you’ll find Palazzo Pubblico, the town hall and official government building, the façade of which is elaborately decorated with the coat of arms of the republic and its four municipalities. Over the square’s stone walls the views of the surrounding landscape are beautiful.

Marche House to sell
MOLLEONE (Sant' Eustacchio) with exceptional and spectacular views, could make your dreams of live in Italy come true.
In one of the most beautiful spots in the Marche, this exceptional house, has taken its beginning 800 years ago. It all began with a small chapel (see below), with the sonorous name St. Eustacchio.
During the centuries charming stables, living-, and bedrooms have been built around the chapel. The chapel is still the center-, or if you wish, the heart of the house. In the past decades it has been used as the kitchen. It has a round window, a huge fire place and from here two set of stairs lead into different parts of the house. It seems that there is still a niche for a holy statue, some say a cross or even a Jesus staue in one of the walls. It is now covered and left to the new owner to open it and discover, what is hidden in the wall.
From the old chapel, there are two (now closed) doors, leading into the main huge and a second stable a few steps below. This door could and should be re-opened.
The stables still have old features and cotto-floors.
Separate from the main house there is a huge beautifully located barn. It can easily be converted into a spacious living space. The barn has enough height for two levels and offers a living space of up to 150 square meters.
Actually it would be ideal to start this smaller project, have a comfortable space to stay and take your time to rebuild and design the main building.
Another feature of the main house, is its square shape, which allows easy transitions and passages from room to room. Or else dividing the house into separate apartments.
St. Eustacchio / Molleone is suitable for many diverse purposes and it can be anything you dream of or imagine: a beautiful and spacious family house, or up to 6 or 7 independent apartments. It can be a B&B or an arts-, or cultural center, a training center or business use, a retreat, riding academy, artist project or you can buy it just as an investment....
Overall, the main house offers a living space of approximately 450 square meters. Inside the house there is an old water-depot which can be used as an indoor pool, a huge sauna, a party-room...
House and barn are located on a hill, with ancient oak trees, nut-trees, fruit-trees and a memorable view to Mt. Catria, Mt. Nerone, the historic town of Frontone. The hill / plot measures about 1, 3 ha. Suitable for cultivation of wine, fruit trees, pergolas and different seat levels, even a swimming pool and a tennis court, could be build.
Co-owned with the two neighboring houses, above and below, St. Eustacchio has its own, all year water source. Electricity is available, telephone lines are nearby. The historic university town of Urbino, with its famous Palazzo Ducale and Urbania with the smaller residence Ducale, Pergola, Fano, Aqualagna (capital of the truffle) are within easy reach.
Cagli, with its wonderful architecture, theatre, cinema, shops, public pool, and its wonderful and unique lazy river is only ten minutes. It will take you 30 - 45 min to the Adriatic sea.
In the near vicinity there are different restaurants, two of them amongst the best in the entire region, as they have not adjusted to tourists, but continue cooking like the nonna used to.
However one of them even has a simple and quaint golf practice range, where the balls, depending on the season, might land in the corn or sunflower field. And by the way Conero golf club is only an hour away from Molleone anyway.
As is Ancona airport. Bologna 2 hours. Rimini airport 1 hour. San Marino 1 hour.
In case you wish, we could introduce you to different totally trustworthy builders and experts, who could help you to rebuild your dream house.
You might be interested to read the entry in “La diocesi di Cagli” by Prof Gottardo Buroni (1943), about Sant’ Eustachio de Florentino:
The ancient and powerful Acquaviva family owned the castle of Fiorentino, known also as “Acquaviva di Giovanni”. The commune of Cagli captured it after a bitter war in 1217. But no trace of the castle now remains. The first church of Sant’Eustachio was sited below the castle before being rebuilt on a slope in front of the castle.
In 1299, the parish priest, Don Giacomo, paid a tithe of 9 libra to Pope Boniface VIII. The records name the following parish priests: Don Apodeo in 1389; Don Giovanni Gili in 1402; Don Antonio di Luca in 1456, and Don Antonio Vernaccino 1470.
Don Antonio Vernaccino was the last parish priest. On his death, in 1480, the parish was joined with the neighboring parish of San Giovanni in Offaga. This union was confirmed in 1565, when it was stipulated that a mass was to be celebrated in the church twice a month.
The church is mentioned in an ecclesiastical visit of 1631.
The church had a single altar and the right to hold burials. The parish contained only three families. The church was deconsecrated in 1885.
