Findlay, Ohio
Findlay is a city in the county seat of Hancock County, Ohio. Findlay was founded in 1812 and incorporated as a city in 1887. Findlay was originally settled by Frenchman Jean Jacques Blanchard in 1769. Hancock County Courthouse was built in 1886-1888. Listed on the National Register of Historic places. A top of the court house stands John Hancock, below him sit the three figures, Law, Justice, and Mercy. Tours of the court house are available and can be scheduled by calling the Court House directly. Findlay's University, a private university in Ohio is consistently ranked as one of the best colleges in the Midwest. I liked Findlay there was a lot to see and do. I loved seeing the neighbor hood homes, such rich historical character, wonderful details. Details we no longer see in most homes today.

Where to see the Victorian homes in Findlay, Ohio
Thanks to a natural gas boom in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Findlay boats several neighborhoods of beautiful historic homes. Many of the homes border the southern edges of historic downtown Findlay as they were the former residences of many of Findlay's key historic figures.
The Findlay - Hancock County Convention & Visitors Bureau takes a glimpse at some of these homes and an overview of a historic homes walking tour, in this edition of Now You Know.
