Moga is a city in the Indian state of Punjab. It was made a part and headquarters of the Moga district (the 17th District in the state) on 24 November 1995, by the then Chief Minister Harcharan Sing Brar. Before becoming a district, Moga was a part of Faridkot District as a tehsil. Moga is situated on the National Highway 95 (NH-95 Ferozpur-Ludhiana road). The area of Dharamkot block with 150 villages has been merged into Moga district, which falls under the jurisdiction of Ferozpur divisio
Moga district is one of the twenty-two districts in the state of Punjab, India. It became the 17th district of Punjab State on 24 November 1995 cut from Faridkot district. Moga District is among the largest producers of wheat and rice in Punjab, India. People from Moga City and Moga District belong to the Malwa culture.
Towns
The towns of Bagha Purana, Badhni Kalan, Dharamkot, Kot Ise Khan, Nihal Singh Wala and Ghal Kalan fall in Moga District. The villages like Khosa Randhir, Dhalleke, Thathi Bhai, Rajiana, Dunne Ke, Landhe Ke, Samadh Bhai, Kotla Rai-ka, Bughipura, Daudhar, Dhudike, Lopon, Himmatpura and Chugawan also fall within this district.
Bagha Purana lies on the main road connecting Moga and Faridkot and thus is a major hub for buses to all across Punjab. Bagha Purana's police station has the largest jurisdiction in Punjab; over 65 'pinds' or villages are within its control. The town is basically divided into 3 'pattis' or sections: Muglu Patti Bagha Patti, and Purana Patti. The town has its fair share of rich people and thus the standard of living is above average as compared to the surrounding towns and villages.
Dharamkot is a city and a municipal council in the Moga district. Daudhar is the largest village in Moga.
Moga city is also known for a number of educational institutes such as Engineering Colleges, Schools, etc.

PUNJAB ( FARIDKOT ) TO KANYAKUMARI - JAIPUR DAY-1 BY ROAD
It was not planned to stay at Jaipur but we have added it just for our convenience. We started our trip by 9:40AM From Faridkot. And distance was almost 580 KM from Faridkot. It took us around 8HR 10MIN to reach Jaipur. Fuel Tank was fully filled and again refilled from the border of Punjab & Haryana because of fuel prices are high in other states. Temperature of Jaipur was 32 Degrees.

Bathinda is a city and Municipal Corporation in South-western part of Punjab, India. It is one of the oldest cities in Punjab, India and the current administrative headquarters of Bathinda District. It is in northwestern India in the Malwa Region, 227 km west of the capital city of Chandigarh and is the fifth largest city of Punjab. Bathinda's nicknamed the 'City of Lakes', courtesy of the artificial lakes in the city. The first empress Delhi Sultanate Razia Sultan was imprisoned in the Chauhan Durg fort in Bathinda. The gurudwara of Haji Rattan is a popular tourist centre of Bathinda having connections with popular legends. Bathinda is a home of Central University of Punjab and upcoming AIIMS. Bathinda is home to two modern thermal power plants, Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant and Guru Hargobind Thermal Plant at Lehra Mohabbat. The city has a fertilizer plant,[4] two cement plants (Ambuja Cements and UltraTech Cement Limited), a large army cantonment, an air force station, a zoo, and a historic Qila Mubarak fort. History The iconical Qila Mubarak which was built by King Kanishka in 2nd CE century and is the location where the first Empress of India Razia Sultana was held captive[1] History Bhatinda was changed to Bathinda to conform to the phonetical expression as locally pronounced.[6] According to Henry George Raverty, Bathinda was known as Tabarhindh (Labb-ut-Twarikh). The earliest mention of Tabarhindh occurs in the Jami-Ul-Hakayat written about 607 Hijri or 1211 AD. In 1004, Mahmud of Ghazni besieged the local fort, which was located on the route from the northwest into the rich Ganges valley. In 1189, Muhammad Ghori attacked and occupied the fort of Bathinda. Prithvi Raj Chauhan, the ruler of this region, managed to recover possession of the fort thirteen months later in 1191 after the First Battle of Tarain. In 1634, a battle named Battle of Lahira (at Lahira in Bathinda) was fought between Guru Hargobind and Mughals. In circa 1754, the town was conquered by Maharaja Ala Singh, the Maharaja of Patiala and since then it followed the history of erstwhile princely state of Patiala. With the dawn of independence and merger of Patiala and East Punjab States into a division called PEPSU, Bathinda become a full-fledged district with headquarters at Bathinda city Education School education and exam coaching institutions College education Colleges within Bathinda include: D.A.V. It started its functioning from Camp Office in April 2009, which happens to be the residence of the Vice Chancellor, and from November 2009 it shifted to its City Campus spread over an area of 35 acres. Construction of the main campus has started on 540 acres of land in Ghudda Village (21.5 km from Bathinda ISBT) on Badal Road. Engineers India Limited, a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking, is providing PMC services for the project. Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), formerly Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University, is a State technical university of Punjab located in Bathinda, Punjab, India. It was established in 2015 and has jurisdiction over 11 districts namely Bathinda, Ferozepur, Moga, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib and Fazilka. University will function from upgraded Giani Zail Singh Punjab Technical University Campus. Adesh Institute of Medical Science and Research Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (AIMSR) is a private not for profit Medical College associated with a 750-bed Tertiary Care Teaching hospital. It has 150 M.B.B.S. annual seat intake. The college is located on the Barnala Bathinda Highway. The college was established in 2006 under Adesh Institutions. AIMSR is approved by Medical Council of India and permitted by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Gurdwara Sri Tilla Baba Farid is also known as Gurdwara Chilla Baba Farid and is situated in Faridkot City near Qila Mubarak.
Once Baba Sheikh Farid, a great Sufi saint, was passing through Faridkot city (known as Mokalhar at that time).
The soldiers of Raja Mokalsi (a Bhatti Chief of Rajasthan and founder of Faridkot) captured Baba Farid and put him to bonded labour for the construction work of Faridkot Fort (known as Qila Mubarak).
Baba Farid carried a basket full of earth which was seen floating over his head. When Raja Mokalsi saw that miracle he fell at Baba Ji's feet and asked for forgiveness.
Baba Ji pardoned Raja and did meditation for 40 Days at a place near the Fort where now Gurdwara Tilla or Chilla Baba Farid is situated. Baba Farid Ji had wiped his hands littered with mud with a piece of wood which has been preserved here. The name of the City was changed to Faridkot from Mokalhar from that day.
Shabad kirtan is recited here daily and langar is also served every day to visitors and the poor visiting the Gurdwara. 116 Holy Hymns of Baba Ji have been incorporated in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Baba Ji went to Pakpattan (in Pakistan) from this place.
