Jarabacoa is the second largest municipality in La Vega Province, in the mountainous area of El Cibao, in the center of the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC 🇩🇴.
The main touristic attractions in Jarabacoa are its three large rivers: Baiguate, Jimenoa and the YAQUE DEL NORTE ✨ which is the longest river in the Dominan Republic and the second largest on the island behind the Artibonite River in Haïti 🇭🇹.
With its tropical rainforest climate at about 525m above sea level, Jarabacoa is known for having warm days and mild nights during most of the year, but temperate days and cool nights during a few winter months. Because of its mild temperatures, visitors have christened Jarabacoa as The City of Everlasting Spring.
The local Carnival in February is one of the most famous in the country 🥳

This is a spectacular place, with incredible scenery and very cold weather. The nighttime temperature for this season often drops below 10°C. It's also ideal for taking lots of photos and enjoying time with the family.

One of the biggest attractions in Jarabacoa is the impressive Yaque del Norte River, which provides the perfect backdrop for rafting. Adrenaline lovers will find this place their paradise, with challenging rapids and crystal-clear waters that meander through lush landscapes.

This is the 1st video on my trip to Jarabacao, Dominican Republic. It is located in the La Vega province of the country; which is centrally located.
I stayed way up in the mountains above the city of Jarabacao in an very nice and remote B&B.
The hosts was am Italian couple whom been living there for 5 years.
They cooked an Italian style dinner every night. In which, the guests and hosts eat dinner together nightly.

In this week's video we're in the mountains of the Dominican Republic in a highly recommended town called Jarabacoa, near La Vega.
So many people have told us we need to come here and we're so excited to finally be in this beautiful and unique place.

Constanza is a city within the La Vega Province and is know as one of the coldest areas of the Dominican Republic. While the rest of the country enjoys temperatures around 70-90F depending on the season, the weather in Constanza frequently dips below 50F and if you hike up the mountains in the surrounding area you can even find frost on the grass in the morning.
Constanza is chiefly an agricultural zone and hosts the most developed strawberry plantations in the Caribbean. While for a time Constanza was known as a more rural and agricultural area it has rapidly been developing in the last 10-15 years and sees a lot of investment from well-to-do individuals who want to live, or have a second house outside of the capital - Santo Domingo.
Known for it's laid back and peaceful pace of life, Constanza is culturally, geographically and socially different from the capital. If you have a chance we highly recommend visiting the city during your stay in the Dominican Republic.

Note before you go:
Salto Baiguate is located in Jarabacoa, La Vega, Dominican Republic. The waterfall is about 82 feet. The water is very shallow but you can swim and get wet under the waterfall. The water is very cold, it's very refreshing in a hot day.
There is a 10 minutes walk to get to the waterfall. You need to go down some deep stairs, which is difficult to go back up.
Google address is not correct the GPS will take you to a private property. Ask the locals and follow the signs.
The entrance is free, but you need to give a tips to the guard.
