Day 4 of 17: Early in the morning we drive from Fecamp to Etretat. There are a lot of beautiful trails along the high cliffs there, and if you are a early bird, then you can avoid the crowds. We move on. The Calvados Experience - a multimedia show - is well worth seeing and a must if you are interested in Calvados. (Join Père Magloire; Route de Trouville, 14130 Pont-l’Evêque). We return to Honfleur and discover the old town. A bit overcrowed, but still nice. Here we stay for one night in Hôtel L' Ecrin; very beautiful. Shoot with Sony FDRAX53

Another late upload video. Its been ages since a created a cinematic video so i tried to create another one. Fecamp is a really nice city, it wasn't crowded when we visit it so I think you can basically have the best of it. We just knew recently that one of the places where we've been was a bunker in World War II, pretty amazing!

FÉCAMP | Better than Étretat? Palais Bénédictine, beach and white cliffs of Normandie!
We spent a weekend in Fécamp - a small port town in Normandie that is known for its beautiful white cliffs (falaises) and the magnificent Palais Bénédictine that produces the world-famous Bénédictine liquor. We explored this gorgeous XIX-century palace, learned how the liquor is made and its history; we even created some cocktails and did a full round of tasting. Needless to say we couldn't resist climbing high up on the cliffs and getting a little freaked out while up there. We hope you enjoy this getaway to the beautiful Fécamp!

Surrounded by the tallest cliffs in Normandy, reaching over 300 feet in height, Fécamp stands in a dramatic location along the Alabaster Coast. The setting attracted attention early. In the Dark Ages, a significant Benedictine abbey was established here. When it claimed to have miraculously acquired a phial of Christ’s blood, pilgrims flocked to its abbey church. Several Dukes of Normandy lavished money on Fécamp Abbey; in fact, two of them were buried in the abbey church.
Fécamp was also one of the earliest coastal bases for the dukes of Normandy, becoming a favoured residence, with grand castle. Here in Fécamp in 1035, Duke Robert I declared, to the surprise of his noble followers, that he was heading off on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. He got his lords to swear that his seven-year-old illegitimate son, William, would succeed him should he die. He did die on his travels, so the boy found himself thrust into power. After surviving and winning terrible power struggles, William would return to Fécamp at Easter 1067 for a grand Norman celebration of his elevation to the throne of England, which he believed had occurred by divine providence.
