There's nothing quite like hopping on a train and taking in the beautiful scenery as you ride. If you're looking for a scenic train ride, look no further! We've compiled a list of the 10 best scenic trains rides in the USA. From the majestic Rocky Mountains to the stunning Pacific Coast, these railways will take your breath away.
#1 Amtrak's Empire Builder train runs from Chicago all the way to the Pacific Northwest, making stops in some of America's most stunning landscapes. The route takes you through the prairies of North Dakota, the Rocky Mountains of Montana, and finally the lush forests of Washington state. Along the way, you'll be treated to views of glacial lakes, snow-capped mountains, and wildlife in their natural habitat.

The route takes you through the stunning Adirondack Mountains, along the shores of Lake Champlain, and finally into the cosmopolitan city of Montreal. With its beautiful fall foliage and charming small towns, this is the perfect train ride for leaf peepers and city slickers alike.
#3 The Grand Canyon Railway has been providing transportation to the Grand Canyon since 1901. The historic train departs from Williams, Arizona, making its way through the Kaibab National Forest before arriving at the South Rim of the canyon. Along the way, passengers can enjoy views of towering pines and wildlife such as elk, deer, and bear.
#4 If you're looking to add a little adventure to your trip, the Amtrak Coast Starlight is definitely the way to go. The Amtrak Coast Starlight route runs along the West Coast of the United States, from Los Angeles to Seattle. The journey takes passengers through some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, including the Cascade Mountains, Puget Sound, and the Columbia River Gorge. Along the way, passengers can enjoy views of snow-capped mountains, pristine forests, and rugged coastline.
#5 The rocky mountaineer train ride is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Utah. It takes you through some of the most beautiful scenery that Colorado has to offer. The trip is very relaxing and you get to see a lot of different things. The train ride is also very affordable, so it is a great way to see the area without spending a lot of money. If you are looking for a great way to see the area, then the rocky mountaineer train is a great option.
#6 The Amtrak California Zephyr train ride is one of the most beautiful train rides in the world. It goes from Chicago to Emeryville, California and passes through some of America’s most stunning scenery. The trip takes about two days and is a great way to see America’s heartland.
#7 The White Pass & Yukon Railway is a Canadian and US heritage railway that runs between Skagway, Alaska and Carcross, Yukon. The WP&YR is famous for its scenic route through some of the most breathtaking scenery in North America. It is also one of the few remaining railroads in the world that uses vintage steam locomotives.
The WP&YR was completed in 1900 and operated until 1982 when it was closed due to declining traffic. In 1988, the railway was reopened as a heritage railway. Today, the WP&YR is a popular tourist attraction and one of the most popular ways to see the sights of Skagway and the Yukon.
#8 Amtrak Adirondack runs daily and is a great way to see some of the most beautiful scenery in upstate New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts. The fall foliage is especially stunning on this route.
Tickets are reasonably priced and the views from the train are simply incredible. Plus, you'll avoid all the traffic and stress that comes with flying or driving. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!

#10 The Alaska Denali Star is a train that runs between Fairbanks and Seward, Alaska. It’s operated by the same company that runs the famous Alaskan Railroad. The views from this train are stunning, and it’s a great way to see some of Alaska’s most beautiful scenery.
