Silvassa is one of the 7 union territories in india and because of this they get some unique benefits...like low road taxes, cheap liquor and low taxes in petrol and diesel. Silvassa is close to dadra and nagar haveli as well which is also a union territory. There are many tourist attractions in silvassa and around it, you can visit the dudhni lake which is a lake caused by the daman ganga river, you can also go and do boating on the lake which is very cheap and its a fun activity for the family as well. From there you can take a small break and head into the lap of nature and enjoy the butterfly park, khanvel which is located next to the van vihar forest reserve, this park as its name suggest is known for butterfly's and is a really peaceful place to relax in nature, other tourist places include the vasona lion reserve which perhaps has the cheapest lion safari in the world for only 25 rupees! its a great way to spend the day in silvassa and dadra and nagar haveli.

Dudhani Lake | Tribal Museum | Places to Visit | Silvassa
Located 40 km from Silvassa, it is a huge lake built on Madhuban Dam's reservoir. The sparkling water with the surrounding hillocks makes it a popular one-day picnic spot. The colourful shikaras at this lake will remind you of Kashmir. You can enjoy an enchanting sunset while boating. It is recommended to stay back for a night at a nearby tourist complex to witness the amazing sight of sunrise.
Tribal Museum: Tribal Museum, Silvassa is a museum which displays the lifestyle and culture of tribes of Dadra & Nagar Haveli. One can see ornaments, musical instruments, fishing tools, hunting gadgets, agricultural and other household articles used by the tribals of this territory. The museum is popular with the tourists as it offers a glimpse into the life of natives of Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli. Rich & Vibrant Socio-Cultural Heritage of Varli, Dodhiya, Kokna, Kathodia etc. dwelling in and around forest area of this territory can be viewed and appreciated in this museum.
How to Reach Silvassa: - The nearest airport option is Surat and Mumbai. - The nearest Railway station is Vapi on Western Railway. - By Road - Dadra & Nagar Haveli is almost touching Mumbai – Baroda – Delhi National Highway No8 (Western Express Highway). Silvassa is about 14 Kms from Bhilad & 18 Kms from Vapi. Mumbai 180 Kms, Surat 140 km, Nasik 140 Kms and Daman 30 Kms.
Other Place to Visit in Silvassa Vandhara Garden: This garden is adjacent to DGV resorts just outside the entrance of DGV water park.
Nakshatra Van Garden: Nakshatra Garden is an Astro-themed Garden, which has a large variety of plants and trees linked to zodiac signs. The garden has been designed according to the Indian system of astrology that links plants with the motion of different planets. The garden has a dedicated play area for kids & well-maintained garden. It also has numerous little ponds and various species of trees. These ponds are linked by small bridges and serves as a home for various species of ducks. The garden is famous for its medicinal herbs and plants including Ayurvedic herbs. The beautiful walking tracks in the garden are lined with botanical plants with their nameplates. Park remains open for visitors from 6.30 am to 7 pm every day.
Vanganga Lake Garden aka Island Garden: In about 7.58 hectares, Vanganga Lake Garden stretches like a mini forest. Unique Japanese style bridges and a modern state of the art Signature bridge connects the central island to the main garden. Paddle Boats, Restaurant and a world-class Floating Musical Dancing Fountain in the garden add to its charms. Enjoy a leisurely boating ride while watching the dancing musical fountain and feeling the cool breeze. The garden is quite popular with the filmmakers with more than 40 Hindi hit film songs scene shot here so far.
Hirwavan Garden: Hirwavan garden is located at Piparia in Silvassa. A Very neat, clean & well-maintained small garden. The garden has good greenery, beautiful plants & flowers and man-made waterfalls is the main attraction of this place.
Daman Ganga River Front: One of the Iconic structures of Silvassa. All weekend Fun & Fitness programmes are being organized. It’s the only 3 Km long built River-Front at the banks of Daman Ganga River.
BAPS Swaminarayan Temple: Located on River Daman Ganga banks, Swaminarayan Temple is a perfect example for architectural splendour.
Vasona Lion Safari: Vasona Lion Safari Park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. The best way to explore the park is to take a safari in a bus or van fitted with mesh screen and spot the majestic lions in their natural habitat. There are more than three lions in the safari park, which is sprawled over an area of 20 acres and bound by a 3-m-high wall. You can also spot pythons and other wild species of reptiles during the safari. The Park is a part of Dadra and Nagar Haveli Wildlife Sanctuary and also shares the neighbourhood with the Satmalia Deer Park. Built with an aim to preserve Asiatic lions, the Lion Safari Park remains open from 9 am to 5 pm and lies at a distance of 10 km from Silvassa.
Satmalia Deer Sanctuary: On the way to Khanvel, Satmalia has a wildlife sanctuary with many species of antelope. Many other animals including sambhar and chital deer, and blackbucks & a wide variety of birds, including the flame back woodpecker, peacocks, and thrushes. The machan (watchtower) near the water hole provides an incredible panoramic view of the sanctuary and Madhuban Dam.
