The Peaks are famed for picturesque villages, stunning scenery and fantastic walks and hikes!
Here are some of my favourite villages in Derbyshire.

📌 Cromford - with its popular canal walk and famous mill. The village station once featured on an Oasis single!
📌 Alstonefield- this little gem is close to both Dovedale and Milldale and is well worth a visit!
📌 Baslow - popular starting point to explore the Chatsworth Estate. There is a beautiful line of cottages along the path to Chatsworth.
📌 Castleton – sitting in the shadow of Mam Tor, home to the Devils Arse and just a short drive from Winnats Pass, Castleton provides a perfect base for exploring the Peaks!
📌 Matlock Bath – the seaside destination of the Peak District, that is nowhere near the sea. Think sweet shops and games arcades! @HeightsofAbraham rises high above Matlock Bath providing a unique perspective from a cable car!
📌 Edensor – located on the Chatsworth Estate. The village that moved (from nearer to the main house) and the resting place of President Kennedy’s Sister.
📌 Pilsley – close to Chatsworths Farm Shop. The Devonshire Arms offers a perfect pit stop for a pint!
📌 Tideswell – a little gem that many people miss that is worth a visit!
📌 Ashford – home to the cute cottage with the green door (and lots of other cute spots)
📌 Milldale – along with Castleton is probably one of the most photographed villages in the Peaks. Famed for its Duck Cottage, Ducks and Ice Cream. The village is a perfect walk from the Dovedale Stepping Stones.

According to Rebecca Stead, Head of Automobiles at Honda UK, “with global warming and climate change being one of the biggest concerns to face our planet, there is no denying that there is an ever-growing importance to address what we do now to protect the world we live in.” We base this listing on the comprehensive study embarked upon by the analysts from different fields. 10. Derby
Derby, a city and unitary authority area in the county of Derbyshire, is on the banks of the River Derwent in the south of the county. The city with a population of 248,700 is the first to be mentioned here as the 10th of the greenest cities in England.
When Derby city council put forward the application to the Queen’s Green Canopy team for its green project, the city was awarded the ‘Champion City’ status. Everyone in the city, from individuals, corporate bodies, schools, charitable organizations, and estates was encouraged to support the official planting season by participating in planting trees from 1 October 2021 until 31 March 2022. This makes it possible for considerable numbers of new trees to be planted throughout the city and subsequently create wildlife habitats to improve general health.

Welcome Back to Creswell Crags - August 2020
Creswell Crags will be open again from 1st August 2020. It will be the same Creswell Crags you know and love, but there will be some changes in place.
Please note, we will be responding to government guidelines on safety measures such as face coverings and these are subject to change. Please check our website and social media in advance of your visit, and listen to staff and read signs during your visit. Do not assume this video tells you everything you need to know.
Cave tours will be available to book through our website from 10th August 2020.

Creswell Crags Ice Age Home for Early Man
Video shows our trip to Creswell Crags situated near Worksop on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border. The gorge is a very atmospheric place to take a walk. There are caves all around that were used as shelter in the Ice Age 10-50000 years ago. The Caves have some of the most northenmost cave art in Europe. Stone age tools and remains of animals have also been found. Entry to the gorge is free although there is a small charge for car parking. Guided tours of the caves are also available.
There is also a museum and cafe at the visitor centre.

Bakewell is a market town and civil parish in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England, known for Bakewell pudding. It lies on the River Wye, 13 miles south-west of Sheffield. At the 2011 census, the population of the civil parish was 3,949. It was estimated at 3,695 in 2019.
