Travel | We enjoyed Wollongong from an unexpected day trip😉

Travel | We enjoyed Wollongong from an unexpected day trip😉
Hi guys, in this week's video we will explore Wollongong. The Wollongong trip was not planned but sometimes the unexpected turns out to be the best. And this trip is one of those great spontaneous examples. We had a really good time there, did a 5-6km coastal hike, checked out the lighthouse, enjoyed a lovely seafood meal and admired the coastal view of grand pacific drive from Bald Hill lookout... The trip was super productive. I also had so much fun in climbing sea rocks, talking about fishing boats and cannons... Check out this video and do not forget to like and subscribe. Below is a quick wiki description to give you an intro of Wollongong. If you don't bother to read, just click the link to watch. I will see you next week. Lots of love to you, signing off now xoxo.

Credits to Wiki:
Wollongong is a coastal city in Australia, south of Sydney along the Grand Pacific Drive. Surfing beaches and rock pools line the coastline. Trails encircle the forests and rocky cliffs of Mt. Keira in the Illawarra mountain range, which frames the city. To the north, hang gliders launch from Bald Hill. South lie the Buddhist temple of Nan Tien and Lake Illawarra, a large lagoon with boating and fishing facilities.

Shellharbour Pool

Just a quick video review of Shellharbour ocean pool.

G’day the bald critic here again
this time we're at Shell Harbour Ocean pool it's right next to the ocean at Shellharbour Village Shellharbour New South Wales Australia.
Right on the coast of New South Wales just south of Port Kembla Shellharbour pool is a great day for the family.
As you can see also in the background there's a caravan park for your summer holidays, plenty of
areas for fishing there's a kiddies pool as well as the big Olympic sized swimming pool which is salt water.

There's also a small harbour with a park for the kids to play in and a little bit of swimming and also right nearby is the town centre of Shellharbour village itself so if you want to buy supplies for your holiday trip camping trip or just fish and chips Shellharbour's right there and best of all the pool is all free as well

So enjoy

WARRAGAMBA DAM / AUSTRALIA'S LARGEST URBAN WATER SUPPLY / TOURIST SPOT OF NSW / DAY TRIP FROM SYDNEY

#WarragambaDam
#nswdam
#vanlife

In this episode, we travel in our converted Ford transit campervan, with our dog, to Warragamba Dam - Australia’s largest urban water supply dam. You can free camp a few hundred meters from the Dam.

WARRAGAMBA DAM
Australia’s largest urban water supply dam. Look out at Warragamba Dam and see the past and future of Sydney's water supply. Marvel at this engineering masterpiece as it nestles quietly in native bushland. Delve into the history of the dam builders who labored to create one of the world's largest domestic water supply dams. Look into the future at the interactive 'Water for Life' exhibition. Just a 30-minute drive from Penrith, or one hour from Sydney's CBD.

There are three viewing platforms at the Warragamba Dam Visitor Centre which offer excellent vistas of the upstream dam wall and Lake Burragorang. Pedestrian access to parts of the Warragamba Dam wall is available on weekends and public holidays between 10am and 4pm, except Christmas Day and Good Friday.

Things to do while visiting the Dam:
Stand on one of the viewing platforms and have your photo taken with the 'quiet beast'. Warragamba Dam's nickname comes from the fact that three million tonnes of concrete is holding back four Sydney Harbours of water, yet the atmosphere is calm and peaceful. It was an engineering masterpiece of the mid-20th Century - and it still takes your breath away today.

Soak in the views
Gaze down upon the dam wall and a small part of Lake Burragorang from the deck of the magnificent visitor center, perched high on a rocky outcrop, or head down to the dam wall on weekends and public holidays ONLY for a close-up view of the Lake. The lake created by the dam stretches back 52 kilometers from the wall. Nearby, Eighteenth Street Lookout provides the best view of the dam wall height and auxiliary spillway.

Step into the future
Step inside the modern visitor center and enjoy a better view of the dam. Take a journey through the water cycle in the 'Water for Life' exhibition. Be amazed by the unique 'drops of wisdom' interactive table.

Relax with a picnic on the grounds outside the Visitors Centre

Eighteenth Street Warragamba
A few minutes' drive from the dam through the Warragamba township, the Eighteenth Street Lookout provides a view of the auxiliary spillway and a distant view of the Warragamba Dam wall. Open daily from 10am to 5pm.

Mt Kembla Summit Track 2018

A walk up to the summit of Mt Kembla, the tallest mountain on the Illawarra escarpment. Starting point, Mt Kembla look out at the end of Cordeaux Road, Kembla Heights. It took us about 2 hours with stops to do the return 3 km bush walk. There are some steep and challenging bits, but we were able to do it with a four year old and adults of varying fitness levels. Recommend sturdy lace up walking shoes and long pants if you don't want your legs scratched. Take your water bottle , snacks and camera, but please take all your rubbish with you. It was sad to see two water bottles thrown into the bush where they will never degrade, but apart from that the track is rubbish free and full of beautiful native vegetation. You are rewarded with stunning views to the south of Mt Kembla over Lake Illawarra.

MOUNT MITCHELL, Scenic Rim, Queensland Australia - in 4K

An early morning night time hike to the peak of Mount Mitchell for sunrise.
We were met with a spectacular sunrise & unparalleled 360 degree views.

Mount Mitchell (Aboriginal: Cooyinnirra) is a twin-peaked volcanic mountain with an elevation above sea level of 1,168 metres (3,832 ft), located in the Main Range, is about 100 kilometres (62 miles) west of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and immediately south of Cunninghams Gap.
The peak to the south of the gap was named by Allan Cunningham in 1828 and today is part of the Main Range National Park. Cunningham named the mountain after the Surveyor-General, Thomas Mitchell.
To the north of Cunninghams Gap is Mount Cordeaux, while Spicers Peak is located a small distance to the south east.
A trail, classified as grade 4, traverses 5.1 kilometres (3.2 mi) through woodland, rainforest and montane heath up to the main summit, which offers unparalleled 360 degree views.
From the peak on a clear day the tallest buildings in Brisbane's CBD can be seen, as can the D'Aguilar Range, Teviot Range, Fassifern Valley and many other parts of the Scenic Rim like Mount Maroon, Mount Lindsay, Mount Barney and Mount Ballow.
At the top of mountain you'll eventually end up on a knife-edge ridge above sheer cliffs on the East Peak (1175m).

** Re-edited with additional footage included. A big thanks goes out to Edwin Mens (Evo 2 Pro) who captured this spectacular sunrise and escarpment footage..

Our group were the only people on the mountain that morning.

If you visit the national park, leave it the same as when you arrived, pristine !
