TOP 10 PLACES TO VISIT ON THE OREGON COAST - 4K TRAVEL GUIDE
I grew up on The Oregon Coast north of Cannon Beach and south of Astoria in one of the best beach towns of Seaside, Oregon, and its easily one of my favorite places in the whole world and is home to some of the most dramatic and beautiful coasts on earth from the giant sand dunes to the offshore rock stacks - it has it all. Since I grew up in Seaside and Cannon Beach (northern), I figured I would make this travel guide for exploring the Oregon Coast is very special to me. The Oregon Coast is part of the 7 wonders of Oregon, and even though I am biased, I think it's the best one ;) I've driven every mile of HWY 101 from California to Washington and I wish that I had explored more of every beach, rock stack hike along the Whole coastline, but I will travel Oregon for the rest of my life. There are many places to visit along the Oregon Coast, but so much conflicting information. This travel guide in 4K is an overview of my top 10 Places & Cities to visit along the whole Oregon Coast.

Roaming Roberts 2025 02 05 Driving from Manteca to Thousand Trails Russian River Cloverdale CA
We started the morning getting all packed up to hit the road today. We have about a 3-and-a-half-hour drive from Manteca where we were staying at Thousand Trails Turtle Beach to Cloverdale California where we are staying for one night at Thousand Trails Russian River. It was a pretty smooth drive we took CA-120 to Interstate 5 North to CA-12 to Interstate 80 West to CA-37 West to US 101 North. We excited at Geyser Road Exit and drive about a mile to the park. Easy to find. Now navigating the park was a trip. The roads are narrow the sites are really challenging to get into. They assigned us site 70 but there was NO way to get into the site for us - we are too big. So we called and they said we could take site 71. At least we could get parked and backed into this one. I guarantee that we will NOT be back to this park again. Just not a great one - even if it is free - still they are sub-par and don't have sewer sites here anyway. You just never know until you try it. Well, we did.

Napa Travel Tips: 10 Things to Know Before You Go to Napa
Things you'll want to know before you travel to the Napa Valley in California. The best time of year to come: September & October. Grape Harvest seasons. June/July/August is HOT! Really Hot in the day like 90-100F. But cold at night... in the 50's. The morning fog during June through August is deceptive; temperatures get toasty once it burns off
2. Napa is Expensive: Think Disneyland prices, Hotels, Food, and wine tasting. Wine tastings cost $20-$75
3. Napa is more than the city of Napa: The whole Napa Valley, St Helena, Calistoga, Sonoma too
4. Getting to Napa: Ultimately Driving, but you can fly in to
Sacramento, Oakland, SFO, SJC. Napa is located 40 miles south of Sacramento and 50 miles north of San Francisco. About an hour drive from each. You can also take a bus to Napa from Oakland and San Francisco.
5. Public transit is non-existant, but there are wine tours if you don't want to drive.
6. Reservations: Make reservations, for winery tastings, and dinner. You'll thank me later.
7. Wake up early: Especially on the weekends if you are visiting the wineries, go to the busy ones before noon. After 12 is when they get crazy busy.
8. No nightlife -- all the wineries close at 5-6pm to prevent drunk driving. Only thing to do a night is eat. And you better do that before 9pm.
9. Food: Best food is in the town of Napa itself. Think about a picnic lunch from V. Sattui or Dean and Deluca (Both in St. Helena)
10. Don't drink too much -- particularly on a hot day... the wine goes to your head faster. Many tasting rooms have a place that you can spit your wine. It's okay to spit it out after tasting, the more you spit, the more you can taste.
