A tour of Cleburne, Texas (Liberty Hotel and Cleburne State Park)
Cleburne is a small town of about 30,000 people located 50 miles southwest of Dallas and 30 miles south of Fort Worth. It's one of the older cities in the DFW area, with a calm energy and a good amount of parks around the area.
The historic downtown area is centered around the Johnson County Courthouse building, with a bunch of shops and restaurants and places for drinking nearby. The Liberty Hotel is a notable building within the historic downtown. It was once a stop along the Santa Fe Railroad.
Cleburne has a strong history in the railroad, having one of the largest railroad maintenance shops. And they were also a stop along the Chisolm Trail, which is an trail that started for trade and cattle drives in the 1800's. The trail might be one of the largest man-made migrations of animals in history, bringing cattle throughout the U.S.
Songbird Live is a place featuring music along the historic downtown, and I stopped for a burger at Burger Bar before heading out to Cleburne State Park, then onto my gig at Blackie's Gas Stop. Good times.

Texas Driving Tour: Cleburne to Ft Worth 4K
We’re getting closer on our way back to DFW. In this adventure, we’re going from downtown Cleburne, through some cool little neighborhoods, take a drive past the Cleburne Regional Airport, and then hop and travel the entire length of the Chisholm Trail Parkway (toll road) until we get to Ft. Worth.
How many pieces of art can you find on our drive on the Chisholm Trail? There’s quite a few to spot.
Also, see if you can find something strange about the Walmart truck and the name of the exit it took on the Chisholm Trail. Spooky, huh?
