Nagalapura Chennakesava Temple Turuvekere tourism Tumkur Tourism Karnataka tourism, Temples of Karnataka. Sri.Channakeshava Temple was built in 1260 AD in Hoysala Style, Facing East Direction. The Channakeshava temple has one shirne and hence known as Ekakuta The Chennakeshawa temple is built on the Nakshathra Pedastal The beautiful temple of Chennakeshawa is located at Nagalapura Taluk of Turuvekere, Tumkur District, Karnataka.The chennakeshava temple is Protected under Conserved & Maintained by The Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958, Archaeological Survey Of India.The area formed part of Gangawadi and was a flourishing agrahara under the Hoysalas of Dwarasamudra. This Hoysala period temple, datable to circa 12th century AD, is entirely built of soapstone. This temple has beautiful carving but at some places the carvings are incomplete at various stages of carvings. The reason for this incomplete carving is unknown.

This is a place with full of mountains and ghat roads . It is near by chikkanayakanahalli . Here we need to trek for some distance from the road . This is one of the best sight seeing place in TUMKUR dist. This ride was organised by Riders Of Tumkur (ROT). It was a wonderfull experience for me at this place . Do watch this video full and you can see my experience out there . WE just took our bikes inside the mountains and had a great experience . That was literally steep and cannot be visualised in the gopro. Please do not litter those places when you visit . Be responsible and be safe .
