Chalkida - Greece in 60 seconds - Mavic drone Chalkida
As travelling isn't possible in Greece at the moment I decided to do some quick cuts of my favourite destinations from travelling in Greece last year.
Chalkida is about 100km north or Athens and is situated both on and off Greece's second largest island and the mainland.
It is well worth a visit for the ancient ruins (you can even find some in the bus station) as well as a break from the hustle and bustle of Athens.
Comment below for any ideas and places to visit once travel is easier.

Chalkida Χαλκίδα or Chalkis Χαλκίς - on Εὔβοια Euboia in Greece (10)
Just an hour from Athens lies Chalkida, the capital of the island of Euboea. The town of the holy well of Arethousa is the main gateway to the island. Thanks to its strategic geographical location, Chalkida has become a crossroads of cultures and ideas over the centuries. Today, the cosmopolitan city is the administrative and commercial centre of the island on both sides of the Euripos Strait. Euboea has long been a popular destination for Athenians to escape the hustle and bustle of the capital for short trips. Thanks to the impressive, state-of-the-art cable bridge, access is now easier and faster than ever, which has also led to an increase in the influx of foreign tourists in recent years.
Town of Chalkida: A Captivating History - Euboea, Greece | Slow Travel Lifestyle Vlog
How is your week going ?
Take some minutes to relax yourself with this video.
So, this video was about our last day in Chalkida. We woke up a little earlier than usual to visit The Medieval Castle of Fylla. I had a little melancholy when I was up there; maybe you would too.
After visiting the castle, we went to a more cheerful place, Eretria coastal town. This is a modern, touristic town with a great depth of history. It was amazing just by wandering around. The time for us to come back to Athens was soon. Therefore, we headed back to Chalkida center for a short break before we ended our trip.

Travel to Greece - Ckalkida - The beautiful beach of Alykes Drosia
Our most beautiful discovery: the beautiful beach of Alykes Drosia near Chalkida
If you ask a Greek: where are the beaches? they tell you there or there, as if they did not know the place ... or do they want to stay between them? Strange! But finally, we discovered this beautiful beach of fine sand, with all the comfort and very good taverns.

Chalkida (Chalcis), Greece - by drone [4K]. #greece
Hello and welcome to the stunning aerial footage of the town of Chalkida (Chalcis) located on the island Evia not far from capital Athens - Greece.
In this clip you can enjoy scenic videos of the Karababa’s Castle, beautiful green and bold mountains, coastal town of Chalkida, bridges, Euripus Strait, churches, embankment and railway.
Chalkida is the capital of Evia and is actually covers area both on the island and on the mainland. It is located on the west side of the island, facing the Euripus Strait, and connected to the mainland by a bridge. It is only about an hour away from Athens, so it's perfect for a day trip as well as holidays. There are many interesting sights in Chalkida – a Castle of Karababa built on a hill above the city, the Red House and watching the tide phenomenon from the Negroponte Bridge. The Strait of Euripus is prone to extremely strong currents that reverse direction four times a day (roughly every six hours). The city has accommodation of all varieties, as well as shopping, cafes, bars, restaurants. There are several excellent nearby beaches – Agios Minas and Asteria are worth it for a dip!
