As a popular destination for travelers seeking sun, sand, and adventure, Puerto Rico USA boasts an array of exciting experiences for visitors of all interests.

One of the top things to do in Puerto Rico is exploring Old San Juan, the historic heart of the capital city. This charming district features colorful colonial buildings, cobblestone streets, and impressive fortifications like El Morro and Castillo San Cristóbal. Wandering through these centuries-old structures provides a glimpse into the island's fascinating past and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

For nature enthusiasts, the El Yunque National Forest is a must-visit Puerto Rico attraction. As the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System, it offers hiking trails, waterfalls, and diverse wildlife. Adventure seekers can enjoy zip-lining through the lush canopy or taking a refreshing dip in natural pools.

Beach lovers will find no shortage of stunning coastal areas among the best things to do in Puerto Rico. Flamenco Beach on Culebra Island is often ranked as one of the world's most beautiful beaches, with its pristine white sand and crystal-clear waters. Luquillo Beach, known for its calm waters and food kiosks, is another popular spot for sun-seekers and foodies alike.

One of the most unique things to do in Puerto Rico is visiting the bioluminescent bays. Mosquito Bay on Vieques Island is the brightest in the world, where microscopic organisms create a magical blue glow in the water at night. Kayaking or swimming in these bays is an unforgettable experience that showcases the island's natural wonders.

For those interested in Puerto Rico sightseeing, a visit to the Arecibo Observatory, once home to the world's largest single-dish radio telescope, offers a fascinating look into space research. Although the telescope collapsed in 2020, the visitor center remains open and provides educational exhibits about astronomy and atmospheric sciences.

Food enthusiasts will delight in the culinary scene, which is undoubtedly one of the top things to do in Puerto Rico. From traditional dishes like mofongo and lechón to creative fusion cuisine, the island's gastronomic offerings are diverse and delicious. Visiting local markets, food tours, and cooking classes are excellent ways to immerse oneself in Puerto Rican cuisine.

A Puerto Rico travel guide would be incomplete without mentioning the island's vibrant nightlife and cultural events. The Piñones area near San Juan is famous for its beachside bars and live music scenes, while the annual San Sebastian Street Festival showcases Puerto Rican art, music, and dance.

For those seeking fun things to do in Puerto Rico, water sports abound. Surfing in Rincon, snorkeling in Culebra, and paddleboarding in San Juan Bay are just a few of the many options available. Cave exploration at Rio Camuy Cave Park and visiting coffee plantations in the central mountains offer additional unique experiences for adventurous travelers.

In conclusion, Puerto Rico offers a wealth of attractions and activities for visitors. Whether you're interested in history, nature, cuisine, or adventure, this enchanting island has something for everyone. A Puerto Rico tour can be tailored to suit any interest, making it an ideal destination for travelers looking to experience the best of the Caribbean with the convenience of visiting a U.S. territory.

Ceiba, A Town In Limbo | Puerto Rico | Travel Vlog

In this travel vlog we visit the small town of Ceiba on the southeasternmost corner of the larger island of Puerto Rico. Ceiba has struggled since the closing of U.S. Naval Station Roosevelt Roads back in 2004. Hurricane María, in 2017, didn’t do it any favors either.

I would love to say many nice things about this little town, but mainly I’ll limit myself to not saying many bad ones. We visited Ceiba on the morning of August 6, 2024. It was a beautiful summer day, so we were able to capture great images.

However, the town was mostly deserted. San Antonio de Padua Parish was closed due to damage to the roof suffered during hurricane María. That was seven years ago!

The town is mostly clean but devoid a patrons. I wouldn’t quite call it a ghost town, but it’s close.

We were also unable to find any attractions, other that a ferry terminal (still under construction) that will connect the main Island of Puerto Rico to the island municipalities of Vieques and Culebra.

Ceiba is certainly not a tourist attraction in any sense of the word. It’s just a jumping-off point Puerto Rico’s best beaches on the smaller islands.
And of course, as in all our videos, every attraction includes the GPS coordinates for your convenience.
