Discover the countryside of the south of France
Join us on a five-day self-drive countryside trip trip from Carcassonne to Paris. We visit the beautiful and historical towns of Albi, Najac, Vellefranche de Rouergue, St Circ La Popie, Cahors, Rocamadour, Loubressac, Beynac-et-Gazenac, Sarlat-la-Caneda, La Rogue Caceac, and Vierzon. Five of these historical towns visited, are listed as “Les plus beaux villages”, or “Most beautiful villages of France”.
Tarn et Garonne France - 3 Nights
What a stunning region! I had never heard of Tarn et Garonne prior to organizing this visit. The region is located just north of Toulouse. The main town of the region is the beautiful Rose Village on Montauban – called this because of the lovely pink colour of the clay of the area which was used to make bricks.
This region is all about agriculture - fantastic produce and wine. This is definitely an area to embrace slow tourism and to savour. This visit includes the lovely town of Caussade, home of hats in France, then takes the viewer to beautiful Montauban. Go on a tour of Montauban including a restaurant stop. Visit Chateau St-Louis for a glass of wine. Stay at Chateau Peyrot and have amazing homemade food.
Then on to a day of art! La Cuisine is an architectural marvel of the old and the new and home to modern art exhibitions that focus on themes around agriculture. Lunch in the beautiful town of Varen. A visit to the haunting and beautiful Beaulieu Abbey - another site for modern art exhibitions.

3 Medieval Cities in the South of France | Episode .07 | France Travel Vlog 2021
In this episode Jonathan and I explore the 3 medieval cities of Cordes-sur-Ciel, Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val and Carcassonne in the Southwest of France. In Saint- Antonin we walked and shopped through the famous market and ate at A la Table d'Antoine. In Cordes-sur-Ciel we climbed to steep cobblestone streets to get to the gorgeous panoramic view at the top. We also explored the meditation houses dedicated to Anandamayi Ma. In Carcassonne we explored the fortified city and tried cassoulet.

Everything I use to film:
While I am on the go, I film with my iPhone 11 Pro Max on the Dji Mobile Osmo 3. This allows me to get super smooth shots. I combine that with the either the Saramonic lavalier mic or Rhode mic and use a mount to attach it to the gimbal.

When I film at my apartment, I use my iPhone Pro Max as the main camera and my Canon 6D with the 24-105 f/4 lens for B-roll and photos. For the overhead shots, I use an overhead camera rig to mount my Canon 6D and connect a camera monitor so I can view the shot. And when my camera is set up on the ground, I use a quick release tripod. For lighting, I use the Neewer ring light and for audio, the Saramonic lavalier mic or Rhode mic (Linked Above).

To edit, I use DaVinci Resolve on my MSI GS 66 Stealth Gaming Computer. To store all of my footage, I use the SanDisk 1TB SSD Card.

The Charming Village of Bruniquel, Episode 325
On today's episode of the podcast Annie Sargent and Elyse Rivin have a conversation about Bruniquel. Bruniquel is one of those little towns in the south west of France that are beautiful and tell a great story.
And look at all the other wonderful places you can visit nearby! Gaillac, Albi and Saint-Cirq-Lapopie are nearby (link to episodes dedicated to those places below). We'll also publish episodes in the next few weeks about Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val and Castelnau de Montmiral. Annie particularly enjoyed the chateau of Penne. Puycelsi is good too.
