Melbourne is always in competition with Sydney as the best city in Australia. I explore the city by train and on foot to see all the sights and sounds of the city, as well as it's surrounding neighborhoods.

1. Marrickville Pork Roll - Price - $8 AUD (5.37 USD) per roll - Sydney has a large Vietnamese population and banh mi are extremely popular and affordable.
2. Metro One Kebab Ashfield - Price - $20 AUD (13.42 USD) for Large - One of the most famous Sydney foods is a Halal snack pack, HSP for short - and it’s one of the greatest Australian cheap eats.
3. El Jannah Granville - Price - $15.90 AUD (10.67 USD) for ½ chicken plate - El Jannah Granville serves Lebanese charcoal roasted chicken.
4. Chinese Noodle Restaurant - Price - $15.80 AUD (10.58 USD) - This noodle restaurant is known for their northern Chinese fried noodles and dumplings.
5. Indian Home Diner - Price - $15 AUD (10.06 USD) for Double Chicken Tikka Kebab, which was tasty and convenient.
Of course this only scratches the surface of the diversity and the quantity of what you can eat in Sydney - there’s so much delicious food to discover!

I used to come here a lot and shop at Burwood One Shopping Centre. It's a few stops from Deakin University so it was convenient for me after I finish studying at the library.
Burwood East is 17km east of Melbourne CBD. You can get here by bus but if you come from the city, it is probably convenient to catch the tram route 75 on Flinders Street in the CBD to here. This tram line is one of the longest covering a number of suburbs. Tram 75 terminates or starts at Vermont South/Vermont South Shopping Centre.
K-Mart is one of my favourite places to shop. You can buy things with reasonable quality at very affordable prices.

Exploring Burwood Chinatown & Town Centre on Sunday afternoon.
Burwood is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre for the local government area of Municipality of Burwood.
Burwood has a mixture of residential, commercial, and light industrial developments. The main shopping strip runs along Burwood Road, beside Burwood railway station. Westfield Burwood is a large regional shopping centre, north of the railway line, on Burwood Road opposite Burwood Park. Burwood Plaza is a smaller shopping centre on Railway Parade, south of the railway line. Burwood Chinatown (traditional Chinese: 寶活中國城; simplified Chinese: 宝活中国城; Cantonese Yale: Bóuwuht Jūnggwoksìng; pinyin: Bǎohuó Zhōngguóchéng) is an arcade connecting Burwood Plaza to Burwood Road, formerly named Murray Arcade.
High rise residential and commercial buildings are also found in surrounding streets and along the railway line. Commercial and light industrial developments are located along Parramatta Road.

We start our walk on Burwood Road close to Burwood Train Station towards Burwood Park where we turn around to explore both side of this busy road. We can see the entrance of Westfield Shopping Centre which is a large regional shopping centre opposite to Burwood Park. We continue our walk along Burwood Road up to Clarence Street passing the train station. We finish our walk in Burwood Chinatown packed with street food restaurants. The street lightning and decoration make it more vibrant and exciting.

Burwood Chinatown is one of the best locations we go for casual Asian eats. Compared to the Sydney CBD Chinatown, Burwood Chinatown gives you the feeling of food centric rather than $$$ centric. Well, it does not mean the price would be much cheaper, but you might just get a little bit more dollar value out of the food you buy. In terms of authenticity, I would say it is close enough to the food that were made and consumed in China and other Asian countries with some alterations here and there tailoring for locals. I has very good facilities, library that opens until late (pre-COVID), a good selection of cafes and other food places in the campus.
Deakin is located in Burwood. You can get here by catching tram 75 from the city and terminates at Vermont South Shopping Centre. The tram runs along Burwood Highway. You can also catch the bus to get there. There is also a dedicated Deakin University bus that picks up students from Box Hill straight to Deakin University.
