I definitely haven't heard too much about the north coast beaches of Tasmania personally which is a surprise cause these spots I'm going to show you are really quite breathtaking!

We didn't get a lot of time to see Devonport itself but the Mersey Bluff lighthouse while not being essential, was a nice stop off before Penguin, Burnie and one of the highlights of our whole trip - The Nut! Yep.. It's really called that 😂

Don't forget to like and subscribe to join our adventure-loving community!

Now, let's dive into the mystery behind Tasmania's unique climate. Despite being in the Southern Hemisphere, Tasmania experiences cooler temperatures during its summer season. This phenomenon is due to its maritime climate, which is influenced by surrounding oceans. The island is surrounded by the Southern Ocean, which brings in cooler air masses, resulting in lower average temperatures even in summer.

For our American viewers, here's a quick conversion: While Celsius is commonly used in Australia, let's compare it to Fahrenheit. In Tasmania, summer temperatures typically range from around 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F). So, even in their summer, you might want to pack a light jacket!

But don't let the cooler temperatures discourage you from exploring Tasmania. This unique climate brings its own charm to the island, making it a refreshing escape from the scorching heat of other destinations during summer. And speaking of charm, that's what our channel is all about!

The one stop on our Queen Elizabeth short cruise was to Burnie in Tasmania. We elected to take the Caves & Canyon Views tour booked through the ship.

The tour took us to to Gunns Plains for a tour of the magnificent caves and then on to Levens Canyon for views from the lookout to the Levens River 250 metres below.

This was a great tour from the Queen Elizabeth but it is also available from other cruiselines visiting Tasmania.

Definitely one to add to the 'to do' list.
