Welcome to Jizzakh Region – one of unique regions of Uzbekistan. It is located in the center-east of the country and borders with Tajikistan to the south. Visit Zaamin National Park, formerly Guralash Preserve, on the western slopes of the Turkestan Range and known for its unique fauna and flora, is also within the region. The fabulous landscapes and the purest mountain air, a variety of fauna and flora, the ancient places for pilgrimage and a unique national health resort all are Zaamin. Also in the reserve, you can find mountain ranges, gorges and hills. The highest part of the mountain range is Shaukartau Mount with a height of more than 4000 meters. The significant places of this park include “Boboyongok” – an ancient hazel, which, according to rough estimates, is about 700 years old. Its height is 20 meters, and it reaches almost 3 meters in diameter. A very interesting cave was found in a local village not far from the reserve. In its bowels, the archaeologists found the tools of primitive people. The walls of the cave are decorated with drawings. “Zaamin” sanatorium and several other rest houses and children’s camps are also located on the territory of the reserve. Discover the Unexplored: 10 Breathtaking Sites in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is a treasure chest that you can sort through endlessly. It is rich in both natural and man-made sights will surprise you with both historical buildings and cultural traditions. Of course, most of the tourists begin their acquaintance with Uzbekistan from Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara, where the tourist infrastructure is especially well developed. However, there are hundreds of natural and architectural beauties in Uzbekistan that do not often get into tourist ratings, although they deserve no less attention. In today's release, we decided to tell you about 10 mysterious and incredible places in Uzbekistan, visiting which you will be delighted. Get inspired and pack your bags!
1. Our list starts from the Urungach Jade Lakes, which are located 160 km from Tashkent, in the Ugam-Chatkal National Park. There are only 2 lakes - upper and lower. The upper lake was historically formed as a result of a rock collapse, which served as a natural dam. The lower lake is distinguished by ideal water purity due to the fact that water from the upper lake enters it underground, passing through a natural sand and gravel filter.
2. Mountain range Khoja Gur Gur ota - which name means Father of all caves, is located not far from Boysun, in the Surkhandarya region. It is located at an altitude of 3720 meters above sea level.
3. Another amazing place in the Boysun settlement is the Omonkhona healing spring, which is located at an altitude of 1217 meters above sea level. For several centuries now, a blessed stream of healing water for health and well-being has not dried up here.
4. One of the most beautiful places in Uzbekistan is the Paltau Valley, which is located 100 km from Tashkent, on the banks of the Chatkal River. Since ancient times, the mountains surrounding the Paltau Valley have been famous for an ore rich in iron content.
5. One of the most amazing and outlandish places on the planet, full of mysteries and myths, is the Ustyurt plateau. Here everyone will find something for themselves: space landscapes, rich history, unusual and memorable fauna.
6. In the Surkhandarya region, in the Baysuntau mountain range, there is one of the most famous caves in the world – Teshik Tash, the name of which is translated as Leaky Stone. In fact, Teshik-

8. On the southern slopes of the Karatau ridge, 40 km from the city of Navoi, there is a unique natural-historical and tourist site - Sarmysh Gorge. Here, on the black basalt rocks polished by the winds, about 4 thousand petroglyphs (rock paintings) were discovered.
9. Arashan Lakes - one of the amazing places in Uzbekistan, which are located on the high-mountainous Angren Plateau on the border of the Tashkent and Namangan regions of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
10. At the end of our list of amazing places in Uzbekistan is Lake Aydarkul, which is located in the heart of the Kyzylkum desert. The shores of the lake stretch from the Nurata district of the Navoi region to the Farish and Mirzachul districts of the Jizzakh region.

At first glance, the town is unremarkable, but there is a holy place called Chashma, which has a history of thousands of years. Welcome to Sardoba, an ancient man-made oasis nestled in the desert of Uzbekistan. Once a pivotal respite on the Great Silk Road a millennium ago, structures like this are now rare in Asia. Imagine the caravans journeying from Samarkand to Bukhara of Uzbekistan, pausing to rest at the neighboring palace fortress, Rabat-i-Malik, and drawing water from this very Sardoba. Sardoba, a Persian term, translates to cold water. Indeed, the structure's unique design keeps it remarkably cool under the dome, offering a soothing retreat even during the sweltering Uzbek summer days. This medieval monument is easily accessible during your journey from Samarkand to Bukhara, Uzbekistan or from Nurata to Bukhara, Uzbekistan. Situated just 20 km west of the town of Navoi, Sardoba is a mere ten meters off the main highway. It's a must-visit location when road-tripping through Uzbekistan, where you can step back in time and taste a slice of Uzbek ancient history.

Termez Archaeological Museum is the ideal starting point for an archaeological visit to the region, that's cultural and historical sites are witnesses of ancient empires and of the exchanges of goods, ideas and religions along the Silk Route. In addition, the many mausoleums and other holy sites are drawcards for religious pilgrims here. The Archaeological Museum of Termes is of excellent quality and provides a fascinating overview of the area's ancient heritage for first-time visitors.
Termez, the administrative centre of the Surkhandarya region located in Southern Uzbekistan and bordering Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. The artefacts contained in the museum are mainly linked to the Graeco-Bactrian and Kushan periods. Some relics, such as the seated Buddha under the Bodhi tree or the head of the Kushan prince, are actual copies, the original of which are located in the History Museum of Tashkent and in the Hermitage Museum in Saint-Petersburg.
The group of experts visited the Archaeological Museum of Termez during the site assessment mission within the project by the World Bank and the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan Development of new sustainable tourism destinations in selected regions of Uzbekistan: Fergana Valley, Bukhara, Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya.
