We drove 2 hours north to spend the day in Richmond, and see for ourselves just what great things this city had to offer. We tried to fit a lot of things to do in just one day. Check out a few the links here in the description to find out more about the locations.
Richmond is quickly transforming into a cultural hotspot, and great restaurants are popping up every week!
We dropped a pin to the location of the Pipeline Trial for anyone confused like we were. After walking down E. Canal St., we turned onto Virginia St. There is a small parking lot at the end of the road where you can park, and walk a short distance to the entrance.

If you enjoy these videos I would love to hear about it. Most of these videos are made to help people who are thinking about relocating, looking for real estate, or just wanting to learn about the United States. We look at the best and worst cities, states, towns, and neighborhoods in the United States. But, most of the time focus on the negative side of locations. If you only want some happy positive information about a city, town, or state, I would suggest looking up local mortgage and real estate companies or maybe the locations website. They are trying to sell you something so it will be nothing but sunshine, rainbows and a bunch of smoke up your skirt. They won't tell you about crime, poverty, bail bondsmen, or insurance you'll need because of natural disasters. I will. And I will try and make it entertaining.

Richmond, Virginia: Visiting America's Most Historic Church / Exploring Downtown & Capital Building
We began this adventure in Charleston, WV in a major snowstorm. We drove across the Appalachians in the ice and snow, finally arriving in chilly Richmond, VA hours later. The next day was sunny, but cold. I visited historic St John's Church, where Patrick Henry gave is inspirational Give me liberty or give me death! to an audience that included George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. It was enough to motivate the colonists to form their own army, with the intent on breaking free from England. I also explored downtown, and together we visited the state capital building.

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA IS SO UNDERRATED! 🏛️ 🍳 🪦 (and the food scene is insanely good)
Richmond, Virginia used to be a sleepy southern city. Today, it's teeming with locally-owned restaurants, bars, and an eclectic arts scene. I discovered an Egyptian building, an abandoned hydroelectric plant, and the burial site of two former U.S. presidents. Oh, and I did it all for less than $200.
