Bedford is a market town and is the second-largest settlement in Bedfordshire, behind Luton. John Bunyan wrote the book Pilgrims Progress while serving a 12 year prison sentence here in Bedford prison for illegal preaching. Bunyan was a preacher in St Pauls church, featured in the video. In the heart of Bedford, this hotel has been furnished and decorated to an extremely high standard, in keeping with the character of the building and highlighting Bedford’s rich history. It’s been transformed into a vibrant, friendly pub, with a great atmosphere and is a beautiful place to stay. There are 31 hotel rooms, beautifully decorated, comprising family rooms, twin and double rooms, as well as those designed specifically for customers with disabilities. There are also five deluxe family suites which sleep four (two adults and two children). All rooms have en suite shower and bath facilities, plasma TV, tea- and coffee-making facilities and hairdryer. The pub has a large customer area, including a mezzanine floor with a large outdoor seating area for alfresco dining, and an extensive range of food and drink. Unlimited free Wi-Fi is available in the hotel and pub area also.
Set in the heart of Bedfordshire, Bedford is an historic county town, on the banks of river Great Ouse and near to London, Milton Keynes, Oxford and Cambridge. With undercover shopping malls, a local market weekly, winding back streets, stunning river walks, plenty of local eateries and bars, the Corn Exchange and museums, Bedford offers plenty for all visitors. Other nearby local attractions include Whipsnade, Woburn Abbey and Safari Park, Santa Pod race track, Silverstone and MK Bowl – and all of this within a 32-minute commute to central London. Luton airport can be reached on a direct train in 14 minutes.

Bedford Park is a 140 acre, Victorian park in Bedfordshire, England, dating back to 1888.
The park has many of its original features, including a pavilion, sports changing rooms, a bandstand, and a lake.
Immediately behind the park is Foster Hill cemetery, a facility dating from the same time period. The cemetery is well tended and the gravestones and their inscriptions make for an interesting extension to a park walk.
