Czech Republic: CD Class 242 electric locos České Budějovice station
Czech Republic: CD Class 242 electric loco 242 259 is seen at České Budějovice station having arrived on train R925, the 1603 Plzen to Havlickuv Brod whilst a fellow class member waits patiently in the adjacent platform.
Clip recorded 11th July 2010.
České dráhy (ČD) or Czech Railways is the main railway operator in the Czech Republic. In 2010 its consolidated revenues reached CZK 41.0 billion (€1.6bn, $2.1bn). Revenues from passenger transport amounted to CZK 18.7 billion (65% transfer payments from the government, 25% intra-state transport, 10% international transport), revenues from freight transport operated by subsidiary ČD Cargo amounted to CZK 11.8 billion, revenues from traffic control invoiced to state-owned railway infrastructure operator SŽDC amounted to CZK 5.2 billion. With thirty-eight thousand employees ČD Group is the largest Czech company by the number of employees.
The company was established in 1993, after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia as a successor of the Czechoslovak State Railways. It is a member of the International Railway Union (UIC Country Code for Czech Republic is 54), Community of European Railways and the Organization for Railways Cooperation (Asia and Europe).
Until 1 July 2008, České dráhy was the biggest employer in the Czech Republic. After experiencing regular losses and requiring government subsidies, the railway reported its first ever profit in 2007 although it receives government subsidies. Attempts to make it more efficient are currently ongoing and a recent plan to move passenger transport to an independent subsidiary was approved by the Czech government in January 2008.
ČD operates trains; fixed infrastructure (such as tracks) is managed by SŽDC. In December 2010, the Czech government proposed bringing SŽDC and ČD together in a single holding company. The government has also changed the subsidies available to ČD and SŽDC.
ČD Cargo, the cargo subsidiary, mainly transports raw materials, intermediate goods and containers. As of 2009, it is ranked in the top five largest railway cargo operators in Europe.

České Budějovice; colloquially: Budějice or Budějce; German: Budweis or Böhmisch Budweis; sometimes referred to as Budweis in English) is a statutory city in the Czech Republic. It is the largest city in the South Bohemian Region as well as its political and commercial capital.
It is located in the center of a valley of the Vltava River, at the confluence with the Malše. It is famous for Budweiser.
The city is served by České Budějovice railway station, a Neo-Renaissance style station building in the new town. The horse-drawn railroad line connecting České Budějovice to Linz was the second oldest public line in continental Europe (after the St.Étienne-Andrézieux line in France), constructed from 1824 to 1832; traces of the line can be seen south of the city. Local buses and trolleybuses take passengers to most areas of the city.

Town Built for the APOCALYPSE - Tabor
Tabor (and no we don't mean Mount Tabor in Israel) is a small town located in the South Bohemian Region, which was actually named after Mount Tabor, nowadays in Israel. In the 15th century, the Hussites built this town as the center of their holy mission, to cleanse the world and help enact the Last Judgment. Today Tabor attracts visitors from all around the world with its beautiful historical city center where you can visit the Museum of Hussites, enter its unique underground passages and climb the tallest church tower in the Southern Bohemian Region. In this video, we'll guide you through this beautiful town, which is one of our most favorite towns in the Czech Republic and one of the best places for your 1 day trip from Prague. #czechrepublic #travel #realpragueguides

We traveled to Tabor by train. The train ride was about 1 hour and a half. You can book the train tickets here, we recommend making a seat reservation:
The hotel we stayed in was called Staromestsky pension (it's not a hotel really, it's pension, kind of like a smaller hotel, without reception):
It was nice, only few minutes walk from the main square. The other hotels in Tabor looked nice too.
We recommend climbing the church tower for a beautiful view of Tabor. You pay for the the ticket at the top of the tower. You can only pay by cash and they do not split large bills up there! Come prepared!
There is also a nice monastery near Tabor: Klokoty monastery. We didn't manage to show in the video but if you have few hours extra and don't know what else to do in Tabor we recommend to visit it. It's only few minutes walk from Tabor.

20 let Panství Bechyně | 20 Jahre Herrschaft Bechyne | 20 Years Estate Bechyne

V kapli Panny Marie Bolestné a sv.
Celý areál už 6 let spravují dva dobrovolníci – paní Petrovičová a pan Uhlíř, a to i přes svůj vyšší věk. Oba zaslouží obrovské poděkování 🙏, protože Křížovou horu ohromně pozvedli a zajistili se i o to, že zde díky veřejné sbírce opět zvoní zvon 👍
Central Bohemia Region
The Central Bohemia Region is often times considered to be the true heart of Bohemia - the western part of the Czech Republic. In fact, the region is home to some of the oldest settlements in the country, and at a later time, a number of historically important events had taken place here, many of which had a direct impact on European history as a whole. Thanks to this rich past, every corner of Central Bohemia has many of its own historical sites and cultural landmarks.
