Quimper is an ancient Breton city, now the capital of the department of Finistère and the district of the same name. Previously, Kemper was the capital of the historical province of Cornoyer. The first settlement on the site of Kemper was founded in the 1st century BC by settlers from the British Isles. The name of the historical province is not accidental in tune with the name of the British Duchy of Cornwall - it is believed that it was from those places that the first Britons arrived and brought their dialect. The time of the foundation of the present Kemper is called the 6th century, and its name is translated from Breton as the merging of rivers - the city is located in a place where the waters of the three rivers are connected. Quimper est une ancienne ville bretonne, aujourd'hui la capitale du département du Finistère et le quartier du même nom. Auparavant, Kemper était la capitale de la province historique de Cornoyer. Le premier établissement sur le site de Kemper a été fondé au 1er siècle avant JC par des colons des îles britanniques. Le nom de la province historique n'est pas accidentel en accord avec le nom du duché britannique de Cornouailles - on croit que c'est de ces endroits que les premiers Britanniques sont arrivés et ont apporté leur dialecte. Le temps de la fondation du Kemper actuel est appelé le 6ème siècle, et son nom est traduit du breton comme la fusion des rivières - la ville est située dans un endroit où les eaux des trois rivières sont connectées. Concarneau, France Travel
Concarneau, France Travel - Concarneau (Breton: Konk Kerne, meaning Bay of Cornwall) is a commune in the Finistère department in Brittany in north-western France.
The town has two distinct areas: the modern town on the mainland and the medieval Ville Close, a walled town on a long island in the centre of the harbour. Historically, the old town was a centre of shipbuilding. The Ville Close is now devoted to tourism with many restaurants and shops aimed at tourists. However restraint has been shown in resisting the worst excesses of souvenir shops. Also in the Ville Close is the fishing museum. The Ville Close is connected to the town by a drawbridge and at the other end a ferry to the village of Lanriec on the other side of the harbour.
In August the town holds the annual Fête des Filets Bleus (Festival of the blue nets). The festival named after the traditional blue nets of Concarneaus fishing fleet, is a celebration of Breton and pan-Celtic culture. Such festival can occur throughout Brittany but the Filets Bleus is one of the oldest and largest attracting in excess of a thousand costumed participants with many times the number of observers. In 2005, the 100th festival was celebrated.
Concarneau was also the setting for Belgian mystery writer Georges Simenons 1931 novel Le Chien jaune (The Yellow Dog), featuring his celebrated sleuth Maigret. source : wikipedia Enjoy Your Concarneau, France Travel!

Ich zeige euch einen breiten Querschnitt der Sehenswürdigkeiten von den besten Surfspots in Frankreich über malerische Dörfer, wie das süße Pont-Aven bis hin zu den rauen Klippen des Pointe du Raz. Ein Muss bei eurem Urlaub in die Bretagne ist ein Ausflug in die bretonische Karibik: Die Glénan Inseln sehen dem Urlaubsparadies mit ihren weißen Sandstränden und dem türkisen Wasser nämlich zum verwechseln ähnlich. Der perfekte Ort um zu entspannen, aber auch für aktiven Wassersport.
