Grab my ultimate food map here:

Today is the 1st episode of my Silom series as we hit the Silom Road in Bang Rak for an awesome local Thai street food breakfast.

We started with probably the best massaman curry I've had in Bangkok and some really good Thai fish cakes at Krua Aroy ARoy on Pan Road. One bite and it was easy to see why this is Bangkok's most famous massaman! They also sell Khao Soi and an array of other Thai curries like green curry, panang and geang som.

Krua Aroy-Aroy ครัว อร๊อย-อร่อย:
📍

Next I tried to show you Sri Maha Mariamman Temple (Wat Khaek)
📍

I had some pandan buns and pandan cream choux at a 50 year old bakery called Ama Bakery อาม้าเบเกอรี่
📍

Lastly, we took a walk down the original street food street in the area, Silom Soi 20.

My name’s Gary and I’ve been living in Bangkok for the past five plus years and travelling Thailand for over ten. I’m obsessed with Thai street food and it’s that obsession that led me to start this YouTube channel. I want to share my favourite hidden spots in Bangkok and the rest of Thailand so you can fall in love with authentic, local Thai food as much as I have!

I’ve never understood travelling to a town or city and not eating the local food. How else do you really connect with a place? Let’s get out and explore together and I guarantee you’ll find a whole different side to this wonderful country.

If you love seeing off the beaten path, non-touristy, local life and authentic local life in Bangkok and Thailand then this is the channel for you. If go go bars on the Sukhumvit Road are more your thing (I’m not judging) then maybe not!

THAILAND VLOG Experience the Enchanting Beauty of Bangkok's Floating Market in 4K

Floating market in Bangkok Thailand. In the past, Nonthaburi was filled with many small canals for people to transport easily through water. Though, in the present day, almost all canals have been transformed to roads with only few remaining canals. One of the canals that still remains its vigorous until nowadays is on Wang Takien canal area, Bang Khu Wieng Sub-District, Bang Kruai District. Wat Takien Floating Market is grand opened on May 2nd, 2009 by Luang Poo Yam (Venerable Grandfather Yam). He performed an opening ceremony and sprinkle the holy water to the sellers that float their selling boats. The idea is to recover the past generations' way of life for newer generations to experience. Also, he wants to use the canal area for the villagers to earn profit without any expenses. The purpose is to giving the villagers back their gratitude, the reason this temple is still here is because the villagers' regularly make merits and donate to the temple. Inside the floating market, there are various items available for purchasing on the shore, such as vegetables, fruits, barbequed coconut, Look Choob (delectable imitation fruits), Thai desserts, etc. You can also purchase items from the paddling boats, for examples, seasonal fruits, pot-stewed duck, boat noodles, and herbal drinks. After satisfied with the food, the floating market also have interesting activities such as paddling water bicycle, scenery sightseeing by boat of Bang Khu Wieng canal and Bang Rao Nok canal to experience the people's way of life along the canal that still preserved ancient Thai-style houses which is full of natural aesthetics and trace of civilization and fine arts. For those who are interested in experiencing the old times' way of life along the canal, you can transport by personal car starting from the Khae Rai intersection in Nonthaburi, drive straight crossing Rama V's bridge, keep driving straight long Nakara-Inn Road to Kanjanapisek Road. Then take a U-turn under the bridge before crossing the intersection, drive back for around 1 kilometers, you will see overpass then turn left into parallel way and turn left towards Wat Takien sign. However, if travelling from Bang Yai, at the intersection, where turning left to Rama V's bridge, turn left and continue around 1 kilometer. When encountering overpass and the temple's entrance on the left, drive along the road for around 1 kilometer and you will finally arrive at the temple ahead by crossing the bridge and your car can be parked in the temple area. This floating market is operating everyday from 9:00-17:00.

Best places to visit in Thailand for single guys

Best places to visit in Thailand for single guys.

Thailand is a collage of animated scenes that comprise bustling modern cities crowded with tuk-tuks, Buddhist temples tended by orange-robed monks, hill tribes selling handicrafts, lush landscapes dotted with traditional farming villages and stunning coastlines peppered with gorgeous beaches and blue lagoons. Such a captivating portrait explains why Thailand is Southeast Asia’s most popular travel destination. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Thailand. Number 10. Ko Chang. Located near the border with Cambodia, Ko Chang is the third largest island in Thailand and the biggest in the Ko Chang Marine Park archipelago.

It is a mountainous island known for several waterfalls, thriving coral reefs, rainforests and long white sandy beaches. For travelers who enjoy diving, the island of Ko Tao is the perfect vacation destination. Around 7000 new divers get certified on Ko Tao each year making it one of the most popular destinations in the world to learn to dive. Diving allows you to see bull sharks, underwater evolutionary sculptures at Ocean Utopia and plenty of turtles, among many other marine species. Other popular activities include cycling and sailing around the beautiful island. Number 7. Railay Railay is a small peninsula that is only accessible by boat due to the high limestone cliffs cutting off mainland access. Number 6. Khao Sok National Park Considered by many to be one of Thailand’s most beautiful wildlife reserves, the Khao Sok National Park covers jungle forests, limestone karsts, rivers and lakes in the Surat Thani province of southern Thailand.
The reserve is home to some of the most amazing wildlife in Thailand such as Asian elephants, tapirs and gibbons.Once declared the most magnificent city on earth, the ancient Siam capital was an impressive site, with three palaces, more than 400 temples and a population that reached nearly 1,000,000. In 1767, the Burmese attacked and conquered Ayutthaya however and the capital was moved to Bangkok. The ruins are now a major attraction for those visiting Thailand. It is just 50 miles north of Bangkok, and is easily reached by train or boat.

#thailand #bankok #thaifood #thailandtravel
Number 4. Kanchanaburi Located in western Thailand, Kanchanaburi is best known for the Bridge over the River Kwai that is linked with the historic Death Railway to Burma in which thousands of Asian laborers and POWS died during World War II. Several museums and war cemeteries all present information about the city and its bridge during the 1940s Japan occupation.tribes and outdoor adventures of the region. Nevertheless, Chiang Mai itself is a large and culturally important city where historical and modern Thai architecture and traditions coexist. A walk around the historic center bestows views of old city walls and dozens of Buddhist temples. However, the most famous of these temples, lies outside Chiang Mai on a mountainside overlooking the city.
Number 2. Bangkok Thailand’s capital city and by far the largest city in the country, Bangkok, is a buzzing cosmopolis of high rise buildings, ancient temples and glittering nightclubs. While the city is sometimes described as a concrete jungle jam-packed with noisy traffic and air pollution, Bangkok is not without its natural beauty that is seen in its remaining canals, green spaces and flowering tropical plants. The famous tourist street, Khao San Road, is a good place to begin with its cheap shopping, dining and nightlife. Also not to be missed is the sacred Temple of the Emerald Buddha on the grounds of the Grand Palace.

Number 1. Ko Phi Phi Ko Phi Phi is possibly one of Thailand’s most famous archipelagos. It is most notable for a stunning natural bay that was filmed in the movie The Beach, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. But while many come here and have this renowned bay at the top of their to-do list, there are many more reasons to tempt you to Phi Phi beyond Maya Bay. Spend your days swimming and snorkeling among extraordinary marine life or hire a longtail
boat. The surrounding islets like Monkey Beach are worth a visit, home to a plethora of cheeky tree-swinging monkeys.

Nonthaburi Province in Thailand

Due to its close proximity to Bangkok the city is actually considered to be a suburb of the national capital, and is more or less considered a part of Greater Bangkok - had it not been for the signposts you'd hardly notice where one ends and the other begins. Officially, however, Nonthaburi is one of the five neighboring provinces of Bangkok. Covering an area of 622.303 square kilometres and separated into 2 parts by the Chao Phraya River, Nonthaburi is administratively divided into six districts: Mueang Nonthaburi, Pak Kret, Bang Kruai, Bang Yai, Bang Bua Thong and Sai Noi.

The tradition of making merit, offering alms to the hundred eight monks.
It is a tradition that has been practiced for a long time in Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi Province. Which is not very far from Koh Kret which was held along the river in the Bangkok Noi Canal.
