Today’s video is about Hoysala Temple Trail at Arsikere in the state of Karnataka in India.
Hoysala temples are not just limited to Belur, Halebidu and Somnathpura temples. I am absolutely in love with these temples. I was amazed to find that there are more than 100 Hoysala temples built around Karnataka. And Arsikere is one such place in Karnataka that also has these hidden Hoysala temples.
As part of the Hoysala Temple Trail in Arsikere, my friend Divya and I visited the below temples: 1. Lakshminarasimha Temple 2. VeeraNarayana Temple 3. Someshwara Temple 4. Shivalaya
The detailed information about this whole trip with be published on my blog
I would like to thank my friend Divya (from @Divya_clicks) for planning and being a part of this journey in Arsikere. Also I would like to thank the local singer at the VeeraNarayana temple (not sure of her name) for signing so beautifully.

Eshwara (Ishvara, Shivalaya, chandramouleshwara) temple at Arsikere was built during the reign of Hoysala empire in the present day Indian state of Karnataka. It is located at Subramanya Nagar, Arsikere in Hassan district around 40 Km from Hassan city and about 170 km from Bangalore city, the capital of Karnataka. It is around 1.7 Km from Arsikere Railway Station and around 2 Km from Arsikere bus stand. South India is famous for stone carved temples and ancient temples here are of amazing architectural splendor.
This temple is small but compact and heavily loaded in terms of design and architecture. It is a powerhouse of poetry on stones. It is not very well know among the typical tourist circuit but it is certainly worth a visit.

Arsikere(ಅರಸೀಕೆರೆ) Bus Stand | Night- Riders | Waited for one hour😤😤
Hello Guys
welcome back with another Video
Arsikere (ಅರಸೀಕೆರೆ)
Arsikere is a city and taluka in the Hassan district in the state of Karnataka, India. It is one of the largest city in Hassan district. Arsikere city municipal council consists of 31 wards. This region is known for its coconut production and is also called as kalpataru nadu. Arsikere is the taluk headquarters, a major railway junction on the South Western Railway which links Mangalore and Mysore to North Karnataka and a central place for tourists who visit nearby places that do not have rail access, such as Belur, Halebidu and Shravanabelagola.
The name Arasikere originates from one of the princesses of the Hoysala Dynasty, who built a lake (kere in Kannada) near the town. Arasi means queen in Kannada. Therefore, it is 'Arasiya+kere' which means queen's pond.[1] Arasikere was also called Udbhava Sarvajna Vijaya and Ballalapura at various times.
Under the rulers of Vijayanagara, it was under the administrative control of Jagadevaraya of Channaptna and later placed under Thimmappa Nayaka of Tarikere. It was finally under the rule of Shivappa Nayaka of Ikkeri and was acquired from Ikkeri rulers by the Mysore Wodeyars in 1690.
Under the rule of the Wodeyars of Mysore, the area suffered from the raids of the Marathas, and was subsequently turned over to the Marathas by the Wodeyars as security for the payment of tribute.
