Follow me as I continue to explore Mexico as I tour the town of Tlaquepaque in the state of Jalisco.

Only 25 minutes from Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque is definitey worth a 1/2 day or full day to explore this artsy and yes, touristy town.

Make plans to have lunch or dinner in Tlaquepaque (Tlah -kay-pah-kay) as there are many great restaurants to choose from. Small boutique hotels can also be found there.

Visit the many art galleries which you will find along a several block stretch on the main street. It is a walking street (no cars).

Also, make sure to visit the largest cantina in Mexico. Actually, a group of many restaurant owners got together to form one huge complex. A main gazebo in the center is the stage for mariachi-style music. It is always fun and lively.

Since Tlaquepaque is only a short 25 minutes from the city of Guadalajara, it should be on your itinerary when you visit the state of Jalisco.

You don´t have to be afraid of the seafood here, Jorge sells over 400 kilos of ceviche every week, that´s almost half a TON, all fresh and delicious. He also has abalone, dorado, marlin, oysters, and a host of other fresh seafood's, and cold beers. It is our favorite stop after Sunday morning tennis.
