In today's life in France, we visit the old port of Saint Goustan in Auray one of our favorite Brittany tourist attractions filmed in 4K.
Auray is situated in the Morbihan region of southern Brittany, department 56 of France, and Auray itself is a popular place to visit with its lively French market every Monday but it's the port of Saint-Goustan that is the gem of Auray.
If you are interested in what to see and do in Brittany then a trip to Auray and its old port of Saint-Goustan is a must and is a very popular tourist attraction in Brittany.
The old port of Saint-Gouston in Auray is a stunning place to visit in Brittany so it was only fitting to film the historic port of Auray in 4K.

My new life in France started in 2006 where I run a pair of holiday cottages and I always recommend our guests to visit Auray especially on a Monday with its lively market and to enjoy lunch in the old port of Saint-Goustan.
Auray is just 25 minutes from us so it's a regular place for us to enjoy and unwind, as soon as you arrive at Saint-Goustan you feel time starting to slow down and you begin to relax and enjoy the fresh air of the port.
Inhabitants of Auray are called Alréens in French and Alreiz in Breton.
The river Loch cuts a deep valley in Auray and flows into the Gulf de Morbihan with the focal point being the port of Saint-Goustan.
Within the port of Saint-Goustan are a dozen so restaurants serving traditional Bretton creps and galettes, to amazing seafood and wonderful pizzas.
Whenever we visit Auray we always stroll down to the port of Saint-Goustan just to enjoy a coffee and maybe our favorite galette, a Bacon, cheese with a fried egg sat in the middle.
Sitting at the port of Saint-Goustan at Auray your find yourself in international company with American, English, and Dutch holidaymakers enjoying this wonderful Brittany tourist attraction.
In the summer months, the old port of Saint-Goustan can have live bands playing jazz music in the evening while overlooking the historic tourist spot while eating alfresco.
Auray is famous for its artist and throughout the year art festivals pop up around the port for tourists and locals to enjoy.

Auray and the old port of Saint-Goustan are situated in southern Brittany, in the Morbihan region of Brittany and just a 25-minute drive from where I live in France.
We run a pair of holiday cottages in France and always recommend our guests enjoying a holiday in France to visit Auray as it's such a wonderful Brittany tourist attraction.
My Filipino life in France started in 2012 so I have been living in France as a Filipino for the last 9 years after living and working in the UK for 9 years beforehand.
Why start a life in France? I met Mark it's as simple as that, if I had not met him I guess I would have stayed in the UK.
Mark and I often spend a few hours at the port of Saint-Goustan just to enjoy a bite to eat or simply a coffee.
As a Filipino living in France, I have met many Filipino's living in France all of which were married to French men, I'm the only Filipino enjoying life in France with an Englishman.
I think as a Filipino living in France I love visiting the historic French tourist attractions as we simply don't have the same structures in the Philippines especially castles.

Quiberon peninsula /France / Jutting out into the sea for 9 miles (14km) and just 72ft (22m) wide at its narrowest point, the Quiberon Peninsula is a tourist destination par excellence.

Brittany tourist attractions are plentiful especially on the coast of the Morbihan southern Brittany, where there is a spit of land known as the Quiberon Peninsula, a 12 km long spit of land just 200 meters wide at one point with the town of Quiberon at the end.
On one side is the calm waters of the bay of Morbihan whereas on the opposite side it is known as the savage coast, with wild seas and constant winds due to the fact the next landfall is America.
Quiberon also has a ferry that travels to the Belle Ile ( Island of beauty) and both Quiberon and the belle Ile are popular Brittany tourist attractions.
Just 5 minutes from the Quiberon peninsula is the seaside town of Carnac another popular Brittany tourist attraction having one of the best beaches in France and its world-famous Carnac stones the Megalithic stone alignments dating back 4500 BC.
From Carnac you then come too the Marina of Trinite -sur- Mer again a very popular Brittany tourist attraction.

Hello, while visiting the family in Brittany, France, today, we spent the day in beautiful and medieval Auray. The winter colours were amazing !
Auray, a medieval city of character and home to the port of Saint-Goustan Nestled in the hollow of the Auray River, this medieval city of character seduces at first sight with its lively city centre and the port of Saint-Goustan. Despite the passing of centuries, the historic narrow still retain their former charm.
Major events take place all year round at Auray, such as Thursdays at the port in summer, water sports, the craft market or Christmas activities. Every Monday, the mythical market in the city centre is a must-see for the holidays to discover local products.
The city of Auray is an ideal place to wander through its lanes and discover the workshops and art galleries as well as to go shopping with friends.

La commune d'Auray s'est fondée autour de son port de cabotage, celui de Saint-Goustan, qui permettait de se rendre autrefois jusqu'en Espagne et en Grande-Bretagne. Elle se développe au fil des siècles avec son château, ancienne motte castrale du IXe siècle, devenant ainsi le lieu de débarquement de l'américain Benjamin Franklin en 1776, lorsqu'il vint en France demander le soutien du roi dans la guerre d'indépendance des futurs Etats-Unis d'Amérique. C'est aussi à Auray qu'est né Georges Cadoudal, le chef de la chouannerie bretonne.
Aujourd'hui encore, Auray est une commune pleine de charme appréciée par les visiteurs pour ses activités touristiques, autant que pour son patrimoine qui témoigne d'une histoire riche et passionnante.
