Tula Ruins, Grutas Tolantongo, and Volcanos! Mexico City Road Trip 2023

Amelia and I went on a 1000 km road trip around Mexico City, Hidalgo, Puebla, and Morelos seeing tons of new landscapes and views that we had never before seen!

Mexico City had a lot of hustle and bustle was felt so safe and inviting the whole time we were there. The food was AMAZING and the subway system was so easy to use.

Mineral del Monte and Mineral del Chico were both such cute little mountain towns that were so chill and quaint. Never pass up the opportunity to get a piping hot Marquesita with Nutella and cream cheese there!

Las Grutas Tolantongo was a great day trip to go swim and soak and see some awesome mountains too!

Puebla, Cholula, Chalcatzingo, Tepoztlan, and Cuernavaca all had fun ruins and great cathedrals too!

Hidalgo Mexico what to do when visiting Hidalgo. #hidalgo #mexico

We visited several places in the state of Hidalgo including the very first Pueblo magico, Tolantongo, Tula and Real del Monte. Hidalgo Mexico.

🇲🇽 Mexico TRAVEL 2020 | TULA DE ALLENDE, Hidalgo | The BEST BARBACOA EVER! | Mexican Food

🇲🇽 TULA DE ALLENDE, HIDALGO, MEXICO - Welcome back to another Mexico Travel video! This is part 3 of my Mexico Travel 2020 series as we head to Tula de Allende, Hidalgo, north of Mexico City.

Hidalgo is known from its relationship with England, particularly in Pachuca and Real del Monte, which I visited in 2019. Tula, to the west of the state of Hidalgo, is well known from its Toltec archaeological sire (currently closed in 2020 due to Covid-19), and its amazing authentic Comida Mexicana (Mexican Food) including carnitas (little meats) and quite possibly the best barbacoa in Mexico.

Barbacoa is essentially barbequed meat, usually sheep, goat or cow that is slow-cooked in a whole in the ground. In this video, we have barbacoa consome (like soup) containing chickpeas alongside two ginormous tacos de barbacoa!

The next video is also from Hidalgo, in Cruz Azul!

🇲🇽 ENGLISH Guy Visits CRUZ AZUL, Hidalgo | Mexico's Most BIZARRE Town? | Mexico TRAVEL 2020

🇲🇽 CRUZ AZUL, MEXICO - Welcome back to Part 4 of my 2020 Mexico series! This time, we head from Tula de Allende to Ciudad Cooperativa Cruz Azul. Is this Mexico? Visiting Cruz Azul was recommended to me by Valentin (who basically planned the Tula video); he went to high school there, and it appears that Cruz Azul could be Mexico's most bizarre town!

Cemento Cruz Azul is a cement company, well-known across Mexico, started by an English businessman called Henry Gibbon in 1881, in a similar fashion to how the English supported Mexico with reigniting it's mining industry around the same time. Cruz Azul is FULL of blue - the company logo, a blue cross on a red and white background, has the same colours as the UK flag!

Cruz Azul is also the origin story of the famous Mexican football team going by the same name!

It may be slightly odd, but the fact that everything in Cruz Azul is blue and centred around the cement company is truly bizarre! If you're planning a Mexico trip in 2020, or looking for things to do in Tula, a short few hours in Cruz Azul to learn about a piece of Mexico's industrial past, is essential!

The Search for Quezalcoatl, Tula Hidalgo

I have been studying about the legend of Quezalcoatl, which is regularly talked about by those in the know about Pre Hispanic culture. Different variations of the Quezalcoatl story go from North America to South America. The legend was of a great king who brought knowledge and peace to all, but then he left, but he said he would come back one day. In this episode we learn go to Tula, Hidalgo, Mexico and learn about a ruler named Quezalcoatl Topiltzin, who led the Toltecs into a golden age that later the Aztecs would claim as their origin story.
