Somehow ended up in Coburg in Germany and it was beautiful. I also found out the city has many ties to Britain and the royal family. The Windsors used to have the name Saxe-Coburg-Gotha when Queen Victoria married Prince Albert of the same name. It was changed in 1917 following tensions with Germany centred around WW1.

Wir beginnen unsere Besichtigung der Altstadt beim ältesten Bauwerk Kulmbachs: Der Rote Turm. Der Turm ist nicht nur wegen seiner besonderen Bauweise und Farbe ein Touristenmagnet, sondern lockt vor allem mit der traumhaften Aussicht über die Stadt.
Nachdem Sie die Stufen des Roten Turms erklommen und die Altstadt von oben betrachtet haben, begeben wir uns in die Tiefen der Altstadt und schlendern in Richtung Marktplatz. In der Mitte des Marktplatzes ragt der Luitpoldbrunnen empor und lädt zum Verweilen in den Geschäften und Cafés ein.
Gestärkt geht es weiter in die verwinkelten Gassen der Kulmbacher Altstadt: Hier versteckt sich das historische Badhaus. Schlendern Sie durch das Museum und erhalten Sie Einblick in die mittelalterliche Welt des Badens.
Die letzte Etappe ist der Schießgraben. Von hier aus lassen Sie den Tag Revue passieren und genießen die Aussicht über die Stadt und den herrlichen Blick auf die Plassenburg.

Kulmbach is a great day trip from Grafenwoehr and we would love to visit again in the warmer months.

BAYREUTH. The best town for Opera lovers and city fans. (Bavaria/Germany) (1/2)
Welcome back. Today we visited the town Bayreuth. A town which is famous for more than a other town here at the north part of Bavaria. First of all. Bayreuth is famous for the festival of the famous opera composer Richard Wagner and secondly to walk in the city center is a nice experience to ever time in the year. Watch this city report and find out more about the town with one of the world most famous opera house.
The trip:
I went by car on a sunny day to the town Bayreuth. It knew Bayreuth from visits in the past but I´ve never been at the city center and the Main. I went from the place called “Luitpoltplatz” to the main and long street at the city center. I walked a little bit in front of the Old Residence castle and came to a traditional symbol which is famous for Bavaria. The “Maibaum” (german language). On the branches of the trees are happen all craftwork works from the region. To know the Maibaum at the south part of Bavaria are painted in white and blue and the Maibaum at the north part are painted in red and white. The old opera house is since a while a UNESSCO world heritage and interesting for me to see in front of and from a light position. My next stop at the town was the protestant church called “Dreifaltikkeit” in german. Inside was a large hall but the best was behind the altar. There was a step down to a kind of Krypta. Behind a glass wall many famous dukes from the noble families of Bayreuth are in coffins were for their last rest.
For walking to my car, I used the way next to the river Main. Interesting that the river main has two springs. The red Main and the white Main. Both springs are nearly at the same region and the stream which flows through Bayreuth is the red Main. Before I leave town, I visited the building and park for what Bayreuth is famous. The festival house of the famous opera composer Richard Wagner. I and a few tourists where in front of one of the most famous opera houses and it was the best of my trip at Bayreuth.
About Bayreuth:
The town Bayreuth located at the northeast part of the federal state Bavaria in Germany. The town has a city center with a long shopping streat, some churches a university and an old opera house which is a USESCO world heritage and still used for event of the town. Bayreuth is known for different courses. For young people as a student city and for classic music and opera fans the festival hall of the composer Richard Wagner. Bayreuth is from it´s streets with the old and new castle equal like Bamberg or Coburg. The connection to other cities is offered by German’s railway company Deutsche Bahn to Nuremberg, Kronach, Leipzig and the landscape.
The composer Richard Wagner and his festival at Bayreuth:
Everybody who loves classic music or operas know the Richard Wagner festival of Bayreuth (Bayreuther Festspiele). The composer Richard Wagner Mai 22.1813 to February 13.1883 was from his first time on a successfully composer. The came to Bayreuth and of his fascination of the town he built a opera house at a hill with a park and a view to Bayreuth. He has written operas like “Lohengrin”, “Tannhäuser”, the flying Hollender and the siglos “The Ring”. One time in the year mostly from the middle of July to the end of August. His opera house, his operas as well are one famous music and buildings in the world.

PLASSENBURG CASTLE and ME - PART 1
PLASSENBURG CASTLE and ME - PART 1 - is my small trip to Kulmbach , Germany where the about 900 year old castle is situated.This is a big beautiful castle loved by tourist and visitors to visit in Kulmbach which includes me. The Plassenburg Castle is since 1135. It was a residence before by the COUNTS and DUKES in the 11th century and then turned into a FORTRESS in 15th century. In the 18th century it became a PRISON and MILITARY HOSPITAL and DURING THE WORLD WAR 2 it was converted into a TRAINING CAMP and RECREATION HOME. Nowadays the CASTLE is now a MUSEUM and a place for where CULTURAL EVENTS are held such as concerts , weddings and other events in the city of Kulmbach.

The fact that it is good to live in Kulmbach is not only due to the famous beer and the good Franconian bratwursts. The city has a beautiful historic center, the imposing Plassenburg Castle, a diverse gastronomy and is an important location for the beverage and food industry, which provides jobs. Nevertheless, many young people from Kulmbach do not stay here, but that will soon change, because Kulmbach is becoming a university town.
The town hall has been fighting for this for a long time, and from the winter semester of 2020, the wish is finally to become reality: The University of Bayreuth wants to open a faculty for food, nutrition and health in Kulmbach. Which fits ideally with the economic focus of the city and should lead to synergies that also offer students here a professional perspective.

Street Walking tour in KULMBACH Germany 🇩🇪 Rainy Sunday 2020 4K 60fps UHD
Kulmbach / Germany is a town in Franconia, Bavaria. The town is famous for Plassenburg Castle, for its sausages and (thanks to a large brewery) for its beer. There are a few other sights in the city center which we will visit on this walking tour.
We start our walk at the Dr.-Stammberger-Halle where events of the city mostly take place. Next we walk into the old town of Kulmbach but first uphill to the White Tower (Weißer Turm). It gets further up to the Red Tower (Roter Turm) and we can enjoy some view over Kulmbach. It's a rainy Sunday and few people are out in the street.
Our tour continues heading down to the center again where we see the Petrikirche. We stroll around some back alleys while heading towards the market square with the Townhall of Kulmbach and the Luitpoldbrunnen.
We check out a few of Kulmbach's pedestrian streets though with the shops closed on Sunday we eventually head to the Zinnsfelderbrunnen. So we get back to where we started, the Dr.-Stammberger-Halle, to end this tour of Kulmbach.
