The Alpine Wonderland called Albion Basin
Our summer stay in Albion Basin Utah campground and hikes in late July during wildflower season. Albion Basin in Alta, Utah is a popular alpine destination in the Wasatch mountain range in Utah, but is a hidden gem for the rest of the world. It is a 30 minute drive from Salt Lake City by way of Little Cottonwood Canyon road. We cover the Cecret Lake and Albion Meadows trails and show the beautiful scenery and wildflowers there.
We booked a campsite months in advance as it gets reserved fast, and this way, could enjoy the hikes and scenery right in walking distance from our tent. We avoided having to use the shuttle bus this way and saved lots of time, as well as got the hikes right to ourselves. When we were there, we didn’t have to pay the 10 dollar access fee to drive our car to the campground (this was included in our camp fee), but this may have changed or will change in the future.
It costs $28 to reserve a campsite for 2023, but it is so worth it so do not even hesitate to stay here overnight, unless you can’t handle the high elevation at 9,500 feet.

The best place to find wildflowers in the summer in SLC? Albion Basin up little Cottonwood Canyon in Utah! They bloom in late May to early June. It's a gorgeous hike and doable for kids-- but not dog friendly.

Anniversary in San Francisco, Wine tasting in the Healdsburg wine area and travel up the Mendocino Coast to The Lord’s Land. Our kids flew out from Colorado to join us and our friend, Vicky, joined us for the day, as well. Our son, Daniel and Matt joined us for a day, too! Oh my the wine, oh my the food!!!
First Visit to Albion, Michigan
I head out to Albion, Michigan to visit it for the first time. I have always passed by Albion while heading out to other destinations in southern Michigan, but I finally get a chance to go there to explore it. I walk around the beautiful downtown area, check out a couple of parks including a small waterfall, get some lunch at the Albion Malleable Brewing Company, and checking out the campus of Albion College.

Park City lies east of Salt Lake City in the western state of Utah. Framed by the craggy Wasatch Range, it’s bordered by the Deer Valley Resort and the huge Park City Mountain Resort, both known for their ski slopes. Utah Olympic Park, to the north, hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics and is now predominantly a training facility. In town, Main Street is lined with buildings built during a 19th-century silver mining boom.

Check out our scenic hike to Albion Falls. Definitely a cool spot to visit in the summer. Surrounded by tonnes of nature, greenery and hiking trails.
The view point gives a great look at the falls and can get pretty busy on weekends. Located along the Niagara Escarpment about 90 minutes from downtown Toronto on the outskirts of the city of Hamilton.
