LAKE EĞIRDIR, TURKEY | Things To Do In & Around Turkey's Hidden Gem Eğirdir!
Lake Eğirdir is a hidden gem in Turkey. It’s a place where natural beauty meets history. It’s a place where you’ll experience the unique Turkish culture and connect with fellow travelers. This quaint town has been able to maintain its charm and laid-back vibe thanks to a lack of resorts. We stayed 5 days in Lake Eğirdir and explored everything this area had to offer.

6. Visit Yazili Canyon & Lake Kovada National Park Both are in the same direction from Eğirdir and can easily be combined in one visit as a day trip. Kovada National Park is great for hiking and enjoying the abundant flora & fauna. There are beautiful hiking trails and viewpoints all around the lake so you can easily spend a few hours in the park. Yazili Canyon is 30km further south of Lake Kovada. The canyon is a tranquil spot, perfect for climbing, hiking, swimming and simply enjoying the untouched nature.
5. Salda Lake Salda Lake is a two-hour drive from Lake Egirdir, but a must-visit when in the area. Also called “the Maldives of Turkey”, this crater lake has white sand beaches and clear, turquoise blue waters. But one of the most interesting things about Lake Salda it it’s unique geology. It’s one of the only places in the world where ancient stromatolite algae still grow.
4. Meet fellow backpackers at Fulya Pension Fulya Pension is located in the heart of Eğirdir and a great place to connect with fellow backpackers, long-distance hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Its rooftop terrace offers a 360 degree panoramic view of the lake and the mountains. We ranked this place to stay in our top things to do in Eğirdir because our experience wouldn’t have been the same without it.
3. Walk Eğirdir and its islands The third best thing to do is to walk the islands of Eğirdir. Home to two connected islands, Can Ada and Yeşil Ada, Eğirdir boasts some amazing lake views. You’ll find many cafés and restaurants scattered around the old town, but there are also some beautiful beaches to relax and outdoor activities to enjoy.
2. Visit the Sagalassos Ruins The Sagalassos Ruins are about a 1 hour and 20 minute drive from Lake Eğirdir and one of our favorite ruins in Turkey. This ancient city dates back to 1200 BC and was once a vibrant community. Its ruins are widespread and set between jagged peaks, which makes for an impressive setting.
1. Hiking Mt. Sivri behind town Our favorite thing to do in Lake Eğirdir is to hike the mountain that towers above the town. Mount Sivri sits at 1749m and makes for a good day walk. You can decide to start at either Eğirdir or the mountain village of Akpinar, which is located at the base of the mountain. We started the hike from Akpinar, which was about 7.5 km and took 3.5 hours.

7 Cities in 7 Days - Day 1 | Eğirdir, Turkey 🇹🇷
In this video, we begin a challenge called 7 cities in 7 days. I will be going to a new Turkish city every day and uploading a new video every day. We start in the city of Eğirdir, Turkey 🇹🇷 and we actually ended up here on accident and it turned out to be an exciting adventure. We saw lake Eğirdir, one of the most beautiful lakes in Turkey then we hiked all the way to the top of Eğirdir mountain to see the city from above and made our way back down the mountain in the dark.
7 Cities in 7 Days is an exciting challenge and I can't wait to say what day 2 has in store for us. Stay tuned for part 2 where we head to Konya, Turkey.

Exploring Eğirdir peninsula in Isparta in Turkey and WOW that a place!
Me and my friends needed a break from our skiing holiday. Therefore, we took a trip to the beautiful peninsula Eğirdir, which is a unique gem in the Isparta region of Turkey.
I went on this trip with our English friend Adam and his Philippine girlfriend Nikkita. We had alot of fun!

The trip to Eğirdir Lake was unforgettable. We wish we could stay longer. If you are planning to drive here, search for Yeşil Ada (not Egirdir Lake in general). The lake is so huge and you might be going the wrong way.

Afyonkarahisar, eski ve halk arasındaki ismiyle Afyon, mermercilik ve gıda sektöründe Türkiye içinde ve dışında isim yapmıştır. Şehrin Afyon olan ismi, 2005 yılında Afyonkarahisar olarak değiştirilmiştir. Yerleşimin eski adı Karahisâr-ı Sâhib'dir. Karahisar ismi, şehrin ortasında yükselen koyu renkli volkanik kayaların renginden ve üstünde bulunan hisardan gelir. Sâhib adı ise, Anadolu Selçukluları'nın son devirlerinde yaşayan ve Moğol istilası sırasında buraya gelen Sâhib Ata Fahreddin Ali'nin unvanından gelmektedir. Günümüzde kullanılan Afyon adı da bölgede eskiden beri büyük alanda yapılan haşhaş ekimine dayanmaktadır. Kentin tarihi M.Ö. 3000 yılına kadar uzanmaktadır. Afyonkarahisar'daki zengin ve kaliteli mermer yataklarının işletilmesi ve işlenmesi, sektörün hızla gelişmesini sağlamıştır. Gıda sektörü de gelişmiş durumdadır. Özellikle kaymaklı kadayıfı ve Afyon lokumu meşhurdur. Bunun yanında sucuk da diğer önemli gıda maddesidir.
