Shizuoka is blessed with over 500 km of coastline starting in Atami in the East, stretching around Izu Peninsula and running all the way down to Kosai, Hamamatsu in the West.
Along this coastline there are numerous beaches to visit and enjoy - each with its own characteristics and charms.
Here we highlight 5 Great Beaches that are worth checking out when you Explore Shizuoka.

If you Explore Shizuoka you will find a land of mountains, valleys, rugged coastline, long stretches of beach, lakes, rivers and waterfalls.

Shizuoka prefecture in Japan is a perfect place for a day trip! So much to do and places to visit in Shizuoka, but in this vlog, we show Asagiri Food Park, Makaino Farm, and Gotemba Premium Outlets.
We didn't plan or didn't even know about Asagiri Food Park, but it's such an amazing find. The whole Asagiri area is very beautiful and full of lush trees. You can fly your drone in some areas and they have a parachute landing area too!
Makaino Farm is such a fun place! Not only is it family friendly, it's also great for solo or couples. Many people bring their dogs too, with a 300yen (~$3) admission for your furbaby of course. There is a horse riding for kids, tractor tours, barn, feeding stations, archery, ATV rentals, and so much more! 2 hours really isn't enough.
Gotemba Premium Outlets is pretty far from the two places about but it's still in Shizuoka. We chose to stop here because it was on the way home and we wanted to check it out. There's so many stores in this outlet and on a clear day, you can see Mt. Fuji! This place is serious heaven for shoppers!

Mount Fuji World Heritage Centre, Shizuoka - Japan
The Mount Fuji World Heritage Center, Shizuoka (静岡県富士山世界遺産センター, Shizuoka-ken Fujisan Sekiisan Center) is a museum in Fujinomiya dedicated to Mount Fuji. Opened in 2017 to commemorate the mountain's designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site four years prior, the center boasts a viewing deck affording great views of Fujisan and a variety of exhibitions pertaining to the volcano's seismology, history and cultural significance. The building has an inverted conical form that reflects in the pond outside to reveal the shape of the iconic mountain.
Inside the museum visitors traverse a 200 meter long, sloped walkway that corkscrews up through and around the floors to access different areas of the center. On the top floor is the Observation Hall, a sleek area with an open-air deck where visitors are afforded spectacular views of Mount Fuji. Within the center are also interesting features including time lapses and interactive exhibits that reveal how Fujisan was formed and the way humans have interacted with it through the ages. There is also a movie theater showing footage of the mountain in different seasons.

🇯🇵⛰️I was walking around Miho Beach in Shimizu Ward (清水区), Shizuoka Prefecture (静岡県), Japan (日本).
Basically, I walked around Miho Masaki Beach area (三保外海海水浴場).
As you can see, it was a cloudy day… Usually, we are able to see Mt.Fuji (the highest mountain and the symbol of a mountain in Japan) from this point…Probably next time!
It’s about 11 minutes to walk. I enjoyed it a lot. Please check it out!
