Drive across western Mongolia from Little Switzerland to Olgii
After exploring the Baga Turgen area in western Mongolia, aptly called Mongolia’s little Switzerland, we drove back to Olgii. 1:45 The drive now was back to the barren expansive landscape
1:55 We then entered the Khovd River gorge
2:06 And stopped for lunch at 12 noon next to the Khovd River
2:21 The idyllic Khovd River flows thru a gorge in Western Mongolia

Great option for one day trip! A day rafting tour can be done from Sagsai village through beautiful canyon of Koksay to Ulgii. It takes 5 hours from Sagsai village through Khovd River to Ulgii. About 30kms (19 miles) through a gorgeous canyon. It is a class 2, easy, rapids with regular waves and wide channels.
