Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Northern Vietnam known for its emerald waters and thousands of gorgeous limestone islands topped by rainforests. Let's come with me to explore the natural wonder of Vietnam.
I flew THAI smooth as silk from Bangkok to Hanoi, so I did not have to worry about little things as it is a full service. The ride was so comfortable as THAI has been awarded Skytrax World's Best Economy Class.
Yen Tu Mountain is one of the highest peaks in Northeastern Vietnam, located within Quang Ninh Province. Besides being a famous natural landscape, Yen Tu preserves numerous historical relics and is also known as “The cradle of Buddhism in Vietnam”.
From Hanoi, tourists may get to Yen Tu by shuttle bus, car, or motorbike. If you are about to board a Halong Cruise, an extra day to Yen Tu would be perfect for your trip as it is just 90 minutes away from Halong.
Legends said that, in the 13th century, there was a King named King Tran Nhan Tong who stepped down his throne to become a monk and built a temple on this mountain. You will see sacred places which were created to worship King Tran Nhan Tong.
Climbing up a mountain, you will be amidst white clouds and feel like you're in heaven. At the peak, you will enjoy a panorama view of Halong Bay on a clear sky day. Well, today, I am happy enjoying the fogs and the clouds.
The unique experience of this trip is where I stay. Here I am at the spectacular Legacy Yen Tu - MGallery by Sofitel. The location is just at the bottom of Yen Tu Mountain and close to local villages. This architecture is inspired by the 13th century Vietnam. I feel like I travelled back to the past.

Apart from its physical charms, you will feel the calmness, so I think it is such a great place to rejuvenate and restore yourself. As this is a centre of Buddhism in Northern Vietnam, there is a meditation class for you to practice your mind and soul.
