Phi Phi islands (Koh Phi Phi) are a very popular archipelago located 40 km south of Phuket
In 2022, Phi Phi island is open, and the beaches and other nearby islands are more beautiful than ever. The island looks quiet, and the majority of shops, restaurants and hotels are still closed. There are just a few visitors every day, locals and expats for most. You still can eat well, shop a bit and easily ride a longtail boat to the nearby islands and other beaches. In summary, the island is as beautiful, and nature is recovering nicely, but it is also sad to see so many shops closed and the empty dark streets after 9 pm.

THAILAND KRABI 2024 - Maya Bay walking tour
Maya Bay that were selected as our pick of the best beaches in the world.
At just 49ft-wide (15m) and 820ft-long (250m), Ao Maya is a slip of a beach hidden by limestone cliffs. Yet it caught the eye of film director Danny Boyle who used its ombré turquoise waters and fine white sand as the setting for The Beach, the 2000 film starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The movie's popularity attracted around 6000 tourists daily to Ao Maya. However, the influx led to a buildup of trash, damage to plants and coral, and disruption of wildlife.
This prompted Thai officials to close the bay in 2018. They initially hoped the beach would recover within a few months, but it remained closed until 2022. It then reopened with better infrastructure and additional protections. New rules now regulate tourist activities: swimming is prohibited (although knee-high wading is allowed); boats cannot anchor in the bay; and only 375 visitors can visit in hourly slots. Still, the trip is worth it to spend time in this incredible paradise and appreciate the natural beauty that was almost lost.
Getting there From neighboring Ko Phi-Phi Don, take an early morning boat tour here (20 minutes each way) to beat the crowds. Alternatively, it's reachable by speedboat from Phuket and Krabi.

Welcome to the Phi Phi Islands and A&A Travelling. The Phi Phi Islands(pronounced Pee-Pee) are a group of six islands located in the Andaman Sea, 45km southeast of Phuket and 40km southwest of Krabi. The islands are part of Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park . The two main islands are koh Phi Phi Don and Koh Phi Phi Leh, with Phi Phi Don being the only inhabited island.
Koh Phi Phi Don was largely destroyed in 2004 when the Tsunami hit, but has since been rebuilt and recovered.This is a tropical paradise that offers white sandy beaches and bright turquoise water, along with a diverse culture. Here you will find characteristic limestone rock formations and a great wildlife. This is a postcard perfect destination..
How to get to Phi Phi Islands?
There are two main ways to get to the islands.: by speedboat or by ferry from Phuket or Krabi.
Ferries to the Koh Phi Phi Islands take around two hours from Phuket and around 90 minutes from Krabi and Koh Lanta. Public ferries are a good option and it`s advisable to buy tickets in advance to get the best deal.
Best time to visit Phi Phi Islands
This is a year round destination, so when to visit it depends on your weather and budget preferences. The peak season is from November to April but it is also when the prices are highest. May to October is the time you can save some money if you`re on a budget. We visited the island
in July twice and the weather was just beautiful.
Phi Phi Islands weather
May, September and October are normally the wettest months, although the temperatues are still warm and you still see a good amount of sunshine.
March to mid May are the hottest months with very high humidity. November to February are the coolest months and the most popular time to visit the islands, which means that they also are the more expensive months to visit.
THINGS TO DO IN THE PHI PHI ISLANDS
With several islands to explore and plenty of tourist attractions, there are a lot of activities to do in the islands. Here are the most popular things to do in the Phi Phi Islands.
-Koh Phi Phi Don
As the only inhabited island, Phi Phi Don is where you will find all the accommodation options and the famous nightlife.
-Phi Phi Viewpoint
This amazing viewpoint is one of the highlights of the islands. It`s not an arduos climb, being a 25 minute normal walk. Seating in one of the rocks and enjoying this breathtaking view, is one of our favourite things to do in the islands. Morning is the best time to visit and the route is well signposted from the Reggae Bar.
-Koh Phi Phi Leh
The island lies 1.5km south of Phi Phi Don, and it`s an uninhabited island that comprises various stunning bays and caves. This breathtaking island is definitely worth exploring, with amazing snorkeling opportunities where you can discover exotic fish and colourful coral.
The most popular spots to visit are: Maya Bay, Sama Bay, Pi leh Bay , Palong Bay and Viking Cave.
Sama Bay and Pi Leh Bay are excellent swimming and snorkeling spots. Palong Bay is a popular dive site and a good place to spot black-tip reef sharks.
Maya Bay is part of Phi Phi Leh and the most popular spot on the island, made world famous by the film The Beach starring Leonardo Di Caprio.This beach comprises several small beaches and the crystal clear water allows you to see the underlying reef with clarity.
-Nightlife in Phi Phi Don
This island is famous for its nightlife with beach parties and various entertainmemts. The drinks
are strong in Thailand, and particulary true in Phi Phi Don.

【???????? 4K】Walking Maya Bay Thailand MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE IN THE WORLD | Jan 2022
After three and a half years of closure in order to restore the marine ecosystem, Maya Bay in Krabi is once again open to tourists. The bay falls under the supervision of Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park.
From Jan 1, Maya Bay has started welcoming visitors from 10am to 4pm. The number of tourists is limited to 375 per round and the one-hour tour must be booked in advance.
The reopening of Maya Bay comes with certain rules and regulations. Visitors are required to get off at Loh Sama (Sama Bay) at the back of the island and walk five minutes on a wooden trail to Maya Bay. They are only allowed to walk around the area and take photographs and are not allowed to enter the water.

Maya Bay is a beautiful beach with white sand and cobalt blue sea on Phi Phi Lei Island.
Maya Bay, which had been closed for three and a half years to protect the environment, reopened in January 2022.
Most of the access from Phi Phi Don Island is by long tail boat or speed boat. It is also possible to negotiate a charter with a boatman or a tour company near the Tonsai pier on Phi Phi Don Island.
There are many types, from swimming in the sea, walking on the beach, enjoying snorkeling and returning, to lunch on board, dinner, watching the sunset and then returning.

In this episode I show you all about Koh Phi Phi in a crazy adventure.
