Lužnica Castle - Zaprešić
A vast public garden hides a castle which can be seen from afar only from the Zaprešić–Brdovec road near the Šibice settlement. A large wheat field between the road and the public garden emphasizes the impressive image of the castle even further. A single-story Baroque castle was built in the second half of the 18th ct., probably at the place of a former citadel. In 1791, it was renovated and additions were built to it, it became the seat of the Rauch family then. The castle belongs to the first category of monuments, it was renovated in 1982, and, since 1925 there is a retirement home run by the Sisters of Mercy of St. Vincent of Paul, along with a spiritual center.

3 things I learned about the people of Croatia ⬇️⬇️
1. Everyone we encountered has very good English, even in smaller towns outside touristy area. They were also willing to speak in English and appreciated the simple phrases we learned in Croatian.
2. Dubrovnik drivers are a different bread!! The local drivers navigating the steep and narrow streets are truly talented. Extra bonus points to those that are able to easily park.
3. Croatians are very proud of the beauty of their country! Don't pass us a chance to share how awestruck you are by the stunning views, they'll appreciate it.

Places to visit in Dalmatia
DUBROVNIK
Dubrovnik is one of the most well-known (if not the most well-known) and stunning locations in Croatia, and it draws thousands of tourists for good reason. With its twisting, tiny streets and rows of red rooftops, Dubrovnik's Old Town is truly breathtaking. The farther away from Stradun, the main drag, you go, the less people you will encounter.
SPLIT
Another of Croatia's top towns, Split serves as a base for visiting its well-known islands.
The magnificent Diocletian Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the city's most well-known landmark. Diocletian, the Roman Emperor, opted to construct the palace in the region that now roughly encompasses Split's Old Town towards the tail end of the third century. The ruins of the palace can be seen all over the site; there are gates, arches, and a lot of other things that show what a magnificent location this once was.
ZADAR
Since the local airport is a well-known hub for low-cost airlines, Zadar, which is situated in the center of the Croatian coast, is a popular starting place for trips to Croatia. However, it's worthwhile to visit the city and take in all of Zadar's attractions. There are a ton of them.
The Cathedral Bell Tower, which is near to the 9th-century Church of St. Donatus in the Old Town, is a must-climb for the best views of the Old Town and surroundings.
KRKA NATIONAL PARK
While Plitvice Lakes National Park is the most visited in the nation, Krka National Park is another protected area renowned for its waterfalls. Although the images of the green waterfalls, surrounded by thick forest, tumbling to the little lake are stunning, the actual location is far more stunning and must be seen in Croatia!
In addition to the most well-known Skradinski Buk waterfall and a lake where swimming used to be permitted (but is now prohibited as of 2021), you may take a stroll in the forest next to rapid streams and unwind in the stunning natural surroundings. You may visit Roki Slap (another waterfall) and Visovac island with the monastery from the 15th century further out but still inside the Krka National Park.
PULA
Istria, Croatia's heart-shaped peninsula, is home to Pula, a little city that is a great place to visit for history, sunshine, and delicious food.
Pula Arena is a location you should definitely visit. This enormous, remarkably well-preserved Roman amphitheater is from the first century. The four side towers and three levels of this ancient Roman amphitheater are still standing. You can also go to Spectacvla Antiqva, an event that recreates gladiator battles and games from Roman antiquity, if you happen to be there during the summer.

👉We are Diano & Maya, couple from Croatia with the impulse to travel, enjoy and share our experiences with the World. Recently, we welcomed third member of the team, Oliver. We will still travel as a couple, but sometimes we will travel as a family, too. We opened this channel to show you the destinations we visited in a different way. Sometimes we will travel far away, but sometimes we will stay at home too, because exploring Croatia is the best!

Zaprešić
Zaprešić is a town in Hrvatsko zagorje, Zagreb County in Croatia, near Zagreb. It has a population of 19,644 inhabitants in the town proper, with 25,223 in the administrative area. The town's metropolitan area, which encompasses the seven neighboring municipalities, has a population of 54,640.

Grad Zaprešić prostire se na 52,60 km2, gdje po popisu iz 2011. godine živi 25 223 stanovnika. Šire područje Zaprešića zauzima područje od 251,8 km2 a čini ga grad Zaprešić i sedam okolnih općina: Bistra, Brdovec, Dubravica, Jakovlje, Luka, Marija Gorica i Pušća. Po popisu iz 2011. godine na tom području živi 54 640 stanovnika. Zaprešić geografski spada u Hrvatsko zagorje, a zaprešićki kraj smješten je u dolini triju rijeka (Sutla, Sava, Krapina), između Slovenije na zapadu i Krapinsko-zagorske županije na sjeveru, te Samobora na jugu i Zagreba na istoku.
Čak je šest sačuvanih dvoraca na širem zaprešićkom području. Nastajali su tijekom 18. i 19. stoljeća te pripadaju među najljepše primjerke u sjeverozapadnoj Hrvatskoj. Dva su najviše, nulte kategorije: barokni dvorac Oršić u Gornjoj Bistri (općina Bistra) i Januševec (općina Brdovec) - prema nekim autorima najljepši spomenik klasicističke arhitekture u Hrvatskoj. Prve je kategorije barokni dvorac Lužnica u Šibicama (grad Zaprešić), a druge su kategorije Laduč (općina Brdovec) i Novi dvori u Zaprešiću.
Novi dvori jedinstveni su primjer očuvanosti cjelovitog gospodarskog vlastelinskog kompleksa. Na površini od 20,5 hektara nalazi se dvorac, kapela sv. Josipa, grobnica obitelji Jelačić, perivoj, voćnjak, stambene i gospodarske zgrade, povrtnjak, obradivo zemljište i park-šuma. Okrugla vršilnica je jedini, takav objekt u Hrvatskoj, potječe iz 17. stoljeća. Spomenik je nulte kategorije.
Godina 1611. smatra se vremenom utemeljenja Novih Dvora (Curia Nova) od grofova Zrinskih, a kasnije su u vlasništvu Čikulina, Sermagea, Festetića i Erdodya da bi 23. lipnja 1851. ban Josip Jelačić potpisao kupoprodajni ugovor i za 175 000 forinti kupio Nove Dvore od grofa Aleksandra Erdodyja i temeljito ih preuredio. Novi Dvori su od 1863. godine u vlasništvu banovog brata Đure Jelačića, a nakon smrti kćeri Đure Jelačića grofice Anke Jelačić 1934. godine Novi Dvori su ostali pod upravom Matice hrvatske. Tijekom NDH od 1941. do 1945. godine dvorac je bio rezidencija poglavnika Ante Pavelića.
