Exploring Parks in Winona, Minnesota | Schech's Mill, Pickwick Mill, & Sugar Loaf Bluff
Winona is a beautiful down in Southern Minnesota. If you are in Minnesota or are planning on coming to Minnesota make sure you add Winina as a place to visit.
Winona is 2hr 8min (116 miles) from Minneapolis and 1hr 56min (107 miles) from Saint Paul.
There are so many other beautiful locations to explore in Winona besides the three parks we went to in this video.
Great River State Park is a 21-minute drive. Never been but I've seen beautiful photos from the location, Perror State Park is across the river on the Wisconsin side 19 minutes from Winona.
If you want to see an overlook view of Winona without hiking up 500 feet then Garvin Heights Lookout is a perfect place for you. Great view that you practically drive up too plus driving through the hills to get to the location is amazing.
And if you want to get that semi-iconic view of people hills and a lake then visit Winona Lake. While you are there take a dip in the cool water and even have a picnic or play dis golf.
Winona is defiantly a place to visit.
Hungry? Check out Pickwick Inn. You can eat amazing food (on the cheaper side 😍 being $20 the most expensive thing on the menu) and make sure you get a spot in front of the big window that overlooks the lower falls at Pickwick Mill.

Driving Around Small Town Winona, Minnesota in 4k Video
Filmed on Tuesday, August 15 2023, I drive around the village Winona, MN to see what's going on.
The city is named after Winona, a figure in a Sioux legend.
European immigrants settled the area in 1851 and laid out the town into lots in 1852 and 1853. The original settlers were immigrants from New England.
The population increased from 815 in December, 1855, to 3,000 in December, 1856.
Between 1859 and 1900, some 5,000 Poles and closely related Kashubians emigrated to Winona, making up one quarter of the population. Since 80% of them were Kashubians, Winona became known as the Kashubian Capital of America.
For a time, Winona had more millionaires than any other city of its size in the United States.
As of the census of 2020, there were 25,948 people residing in the city, down from 27,592 in 2010.
The racial makeup of the city was 89.3% White, 2.8% Black or African American, 2.2% Asian, 0.3% Native American, 1.3% from other races, and 4.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.2% of the population.
