A povoação de Vila do Conde é muito antiga, anterior à fundação de Portugal, e o seu topónimo não sofreu alterações, era já Vila do Conde. A primeira referência a Vila do Conde é do ano de 953 no livro da condessa Mumadona Dias onde é referida como Villa de Comite. Fica perto do Porto, e tem um nucleo urbano antigo muito bonito e interessante, com casas quinhentistas, ruas estreitas, igrejas e conventos e uma zona ribeirinha rebilitada, onde podemos passear e ver esta cidade de 1001 angulos diferentes.

Charming Seaside Village | PORTUGAL | Vila do Conde Near Porto
Vila do Conde is a picturesque and peaceful seaside village on the northern coast of Portugal, located 25 km (15 mi) northwest of Porto. Vila do Conde lies at the mouth of the Ave River where it spills into the Atlantic Ocean. Historically, this is a ship-building town which flourished in the fishing and trading industries. This was an important maritime center during Portugal's Age of Discovery. The village still thrives as a fishing port as well as maintaining a lace-making tradition. The current population is about 36,000 people.
This video was recorded on a cloudy day with light rain and a comfortable temperature in March 2022. A Saharan Dust Storm was influencing the color of the sky.
It is easy to catch a metro (Red B Line) from Porto and it takes about 45 minutes to travel here by train.
