Tororo is a town in the Eastern Region of Uganda. It is the main municipal, administrative, and commercial center of Tororo District. There are many shops, banks, supermarkets here. Tororo acts as a small trading hub where many people come from the surrounding villages to work.

Points of interest
The following additional points of interest lie within the town limits or near its edges:
The tourist attraction of the town is the dominating rock outcrop that overlooks the town. It is a hike that takes around an hour to the top. There used to be a cable car that took people to the top but this was closed down after a couple of people died in an accident. There is a fee for a tour guide at the bottom of the rock, just off the golf course.

The Tororo central market has been knocked down (Sept 2017) to make way for a new indoor shopping centre that is predicted to be finished in 2020. This has led to a new market starting nearby in water village.
Tororo Hospital,a 200-bed public hospital administered by the Uganda Ministry of Health. Divine Mercy Hospital is a well equipped hospital on Jinja road.
Uganda Martyrs' Cathedral, the seat of the archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Tororo
St. Anthony's Hospital, a 150-bed mission hospital affiliated with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Tororo
Christ the King Priory, a Benedictine monastery of the Congregation of Missionary Benedictines of Saint Ottilien
Tororo–Mbale–Soroti Road[12] begins here and continues in a northwesterly direction, to end 158 kilometres (98 mi) away at Soroti.

Mbale is a city in the Eastern region of Uganda. It is the main municipal, administrative, and commercial center of Mbale district and the surrounding sub-region.
Mbale is approximately 225 kilometres (140 mi), by road, northeast of Kampala, Uganda's capital and oldest city, on an all weather tarmac highway. The city lies at an average elevation of 1,156 metres (3,793 ft) above sea level.
The coordinates of the city are 1°04'50.0N, 34°10'30.0E (Latitude:1.080556; Longitude:34.175000). The city also lies on the railway from Tororo to Pakwach. Mount Elgon, one of the highest peaks in East Africa, is approximately 48 kilometres (30 mi), north-east of Mbale, by road.

Old Taxi Park, Downtown Kampala.
Old Taxi Park is one of the starting points for major roads from Kampala to other regions of Uganda. This place has multiple stages for taxi drivers who offer transport services to areas around the city and upcountry.
Taxis are one of the most popular means of transport in Uganda. There are no fixed departure times. It starts when all seats are occupied.
In 2020, the government decided to close this place for renovation and upgrade to a standard level. The construction works took place for some months and it was reopened to taxi operators in January 2022.
It is now well organized, spacious, not congested, and free from mud that used to appear in the rainy season. It serves routes like Kampala – Entebbe road, Kampala – Jinja, Bombo road, Masaka road and more.
If you are ever in Uganda and you need a taxi for your trip out of the city, this is the very best place to go. Apart from this, you can use the new taxi park, USAFI, and Namayiba. For those who need to board a bus, there are various bus terminals in Kampala for you.

Masindi District is located in the Mid-western part of Uganda, with its headquarters 216 Kms away from Kampala. It borders: Nwoya in the North, Kiryandongo in the North - East, Nakasongola in the South East, Nakaseke in the South –South East, Kyakwanzi in the South , Hoima in the South West and Buliisa in the West. The District is at an average altitude of 1,295 meters above sea level, situated between 10 22‘ and 20 20‘ North of the Equator, longitude 310 22‘ and 320 23‘ East of Greenwich.
