To learn more about Boca de Tomatlan, visit:
Close to downtown Puerto Vallarta, 11 mls (17km and 15-20 minutes), you can travel to a nice little traditional fishermen community, Boca de Tomatlan (or simply Boca, as it is known by the locals). You may get there by land or sea, there are local buses that go there too.
It's on the road to the Vallarta Botanical Gardens, just 3 mls after Mismaloya, and it is the preferred starting point bay for the water taxis that take tourists to the isolated and beautiful beaches of the southern area of the Banderas Bay, including Las Animas, Quimixto, Majahuitas and Yelapa.

Boca De Tomatlan; Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Secret Spot [2022] - Subtitulos
Eleven breathtaking and scenic miles south of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where the Rio Horcones empties its waters into a beautiful cove surrounded by bougainvillea, hibiscus, banana, papaya and palm-covered hills is this quaint fishing village where the river meets the sea. This authentic Mexican fishing village sits in a tropical jungle with cute shops, and, restaurants on or near the sand. Boca de Tomatlan has a stunning beach that feels private compared to the tourist packed main beaches of downtown Puerto Vallarta, a special and secluded escape for a day or two. People here are friendly and polite, kids play on the street and beach, and there’s lots of nature. Thank you for joining Monkey Pooperhead and I in this Secret Spot edition of Boca de Tomatlan.

MEXICO'S COOLEST BEACH & TOWN - BOCA DE TOMATLAN
Scenic drone clips and cinematic clips of the town of Boca De Tomatlan in the state of Jalisco and the west coast of Mexico. I had been traveling up the coast of Mexico and stopped not far from the famous town Puerto Vallarta. It's a small town with a population of 660 people and one of many towns in the area that has a river flowing through town and in to the Pacific Ocean.
I had previously been in many cool places along the coast such as Huatulco, Zipolite, Mazunte, Acapulco, Manzanillo and many more places in the states of Oaxaca, Guerrero, Jalisco and more.

Why visit Boca de Tomatlan south of Puerto Vallarta Jalisco Mexico
Boca de Tomatlan is a fishing village 17 kilometers south of Puerto Vallarta (about 15-20 minutes by car, 20-25 minutes by bus). It offers a very nice beach, good rustic restaurants, several activities and a starting point to visit the many beaches south of the bay. Boca de Tomatlán is the last town and beach before the road heads inland on its route to the areas of Cabo Corrientes to the south and Barra de Navidad. The immediate towns to the south are Las Juntas and Los Veranos and El Tuito which is 29 km from Boca (the botanical garden is between Las Juntas and El Tuito).
Among the nearby activities that you can enjoy are the Botanical Garden of Puerto Vallarta with one of the best restaurants in the bay: Hacienda de Oro. Walk to Playa Colomitos through the jungle. Parasailing, walks to nearby beaches, by land for adventurers to Las Animas, for others by boat (water taxi / panga) to Colomitos, Quimixto, Majahuitas, Yelapa, Chimo, Pizota and others. Visit, snorkel, dive and SUP (Stand-up Paddle) to Los Arcos. There are palapas with small rustic restaurants at the edge of the beach that open from 10 in the morning until, more or less, at 6:00 pm, where you can enjoy a cold beer and a tasty fish or seafood dish.
It is on the way to the Botanical Gardens of Vallarta, just 5 kilometers beyond the town of Mismaloya, and is the most popular embarkation and arrival bay for water taxis that take locals and visitors to the beautiful and isolated beaches of the southern part of the city. Bay of Banderas, beaches like Colomitos, Las Animas, Quimixto, Majahuitas and Yelapa. Exit schedules of the pangas here.
(Boca de Tomatlan should not be confused with Boca de Tomates, which is north of the PV Airport).
Boca de Tomatlán empties into the Horcones River, which also passes through the grounds of the Botanical Garden. At present, thanks to the Boca de Tomatlan boardwalk and the rocky edge that was established at the end of the river, the course is much better controlled and the boatmen and fishermen have a better space to leave their boats in shelter. The beach itself is also very popular and the waters of the bay are extremely quiet (not for nothing is used as a port of departure), so if you are a fan of marine swimming, this is the place to visit, we just recommend that you keep away from the area of the pangas.
You can get to Boca de Tomatlan by car, water taxi, taxi or bus. Water taxis (pangas) can be obtained in the Marina or the pier of Playa Los Muertos. The local buses that go to Boca leave every day from early around 6:30 AM and at regular intervals until around 11:00 PM, at the corner of Basilio Badillo and Constitución in Viejo Vallarta (Romantic Zone), the same place and the same buses that go to Mismaloya.
Boca is an authentic fishing village, 10 miles south of the Plaza de Armas of Puerto Vallarta, where the Horcones River empties into a beautiful emerald green bay, surrounded by jungle-covered hills. Enjoy its beaches of fine and clear sand, the gentle waves of the ocean, good food and friendly people.

Colomitos Beach | How to get there from Boca de Tomatlan | Puerto Vallarta | Ep. 138
Let's go to Colomitos Beach (Playa Colomitos) in Puerto Vallarta this time. I will show you this tiny beach and a very special restaurant which is perfect for a romantic date. In order to get to the Colomitos beach, I took a bus from downtown to Boca de Tomatlan for 10 pesos. Then, I went to the beach by water taxi. You can choose to hike instead, the trail can take you all the way to the Animas beach. At the end of the video, I will stay at the beach of Boca de Tomaltan for a while and show you a bit of the area.
Where to take the bus from downtown Puerto Vallarta to Boca de Tomatlan? (The same bus can take you to Mismaloya beach and all the beautiful beaches before reaching Boca de Tomatlan. No matter where you go, it is 10 pesos) ➡️

Water taxi to Yelapa from Boca de Tomatlan Jalisco 🇲🇽 Mexico 100 pesos
9:00 am water taxi 🚖 from Boca de Tomatlan to Yelapa. 100 pesos each way about 25 minutes. We took a taxi from our hotel (Hotel Tropicana) to Boca de Tomatlan. First water taxi from Puerto Vallarta to Yelapa is at 11:00 am from Malecón about 1 hour ride.
Visitar, snorkel, buceo y SUP (Stand-up Paddle) a Los Arcos.
Boca de Tomatlan is a fishing village 11 miles south of Puerto Vallarta (about 15-20 minutes by car, 20-25 minutes by bus).
Among the nearby activities that you can enjoy is the Botanical Garden of Puerto Vallarta with one of the best restaurants in the bay: Hacienda de Oro.
Boca de Tomatlán empties into the Horcones River, which also passes through the grounds of the Botanical Garden. At present, thanks to the Boca de Tomatlan boardwalk and the rocky edge that was established at the end of the river, the course is much better controlled and the boatmen and fishermen have a better space to leave their boats in the shelter.
