Tiburon Travel Guide - Top 5 Things to Do

Tiburon, California is full of fun things to do like delicious restaurants, shopping along main street, a shoreline path walk and a visit to the old Tiburon rail museum.

Hi, I'm Michael Johnson with Film Compass and in today's travel guide we'll discover all the fun things to do in Tiburon, California.

00:00 Intro
0:20 Ferry
01:05 Shopping
01:43 Sam's Cafe
02:07 Shoreline Path
02:48 Rail Museum

1. Tiburon Ferry - A ferry ride to this small town can be booked with the Golden Gate Ferry service fleet with roundtrip tickets to Tiburon only costing $28. The ferry lasts approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on if there is a stop at Angel Island along the way. Stops to Angel Island usually only happen on the weekend so if you’re going to Tiburon during the weekdays your ferry ride should be shorter.

The best part about riding the ferry to Tiburon is all the sights you’ll see along the way. The San Francisco skyline emerges as you depart and makes for an excellent photo opportunity. Further into your journey you’ll pass by Alcatraz Island in the distance and take a sharp turn around Angel Island before making it to Tiburon’s ferry dock.

2. Shopping in Tiburon - shopping in this small town is a great way to start your adventure here. There’s many unique shops that are one of a kind and special to this place. The local spicery is a great place to start but if you’re looking for unique items then I would head to one of Tiburon’s boutiques. Two boutiques come to mind when visiting here, the first is Ella Lafay with its fashionable clothing. Next up there’s Mainstreet Mercantile with its large selections of décor that’s perfect for the home.

Tiburon’s downtown shops are full of unique items and gifts that make this town’s shopping experience a true joy for those visiting.

3. Sam’s Anchor Café - this is one of Tiburon’s best restaurants and a true local dining experience. This restaurant has been serving customers in the bay area for over 100 years. Sam's has long been famous for its fresh seafood, fun atmosphere and spectacular views of Angel Island, Alcatraz and the San Francisco skyline.

When dining here I recommend grabbing brunch, a plate of french toast or if lunch or dinner is what you crave then dive in to some of Sam’s famous seafood. Whatever the occasion, Sam’s restaurant is a must when visiting Tiburon.

4. Shoreline Path - next up is the .5 mile round trip walk along the shores of Tiburon. This path is where the locals come to take in the sailboats and scenery on cool mornings. The path is very close to downtown and ends with a nice dock that extends out to Elephant Rock.

Walking along this path is a great way to soak up the long distance views and Angel Island. Further down the road you’ll follow Paradise Drive and come to Lyford's Stone Tower that was built in the 1890’s and was designated the first historical landmark of Tiburon.

5. Tiburon Railroad & Ferry Depot Museum - the Tiburon Rail Museum is located right along Shoreline Path and offers visitors a peak into the town’s history. The museum covers Point Tiburon’s railroad and ferry service to northern California and its large influence on trade. The museum also features Blackie the horse and includes other scaled models of ferries and the town’s infrastructure.

With its rich railroad and ferry history - it’s easy to see that Tiburon is more than just a waterfront town. So take the next Golden Gate Ferry to this wonderful place and discover all the great restaurants and good times Tiburon, California has to offer.

I hope you enjoyed this Tiburon Travel Guide - stay tuned for more videos and thanks for watching.

Exploring Downtown Tiburon, California USA Walking Tour #tiburon #tiburoncalifornia #downtowntiburon

Exploration To Go takes you on a walking tour through downtown Tiburon, California USA in stunning 4K UHD at 60 fps with relaxing jazz / modern / easy listening / instrumental music in the background for listening pleasure. Tiburon, CA is situated north of San Francisco with sweeping views of the Bay waters, the San Francisco skyline, Golden Gate Bridge, and the bay fog.

The city's name derives from the Spanish word tiburón, which means shark. The name was first given to the peninsula on which the city is situated, and probably inspired by the prevalence of locally native leopard sharks in the surrounding waters. Tiburon was formerly the southern terminus of the San Francisco and North Pacific Railroad (subsequently the Northwestern Pacific Railroad), which transported freight for transfer to barges for shipping to cities around San Francisco Bay. It is now a commuter and tourist town, linked by fast ferry services to San Francisco and with a concentration of restaurants and clothes shops. It is the nearest mainland point to Angel Island and a regular ferry service connects to the island.

10 Top Tourist Attractions in San Francisco - Travel Video

Check out all the attractions seen in this video:

San Francisco, everyone’s favorite city, is located at the tip of a peninsula between the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific coast. A compact city of steep rolling hills surrounded on three sides by water, San Francisco is renowned for its summer fogs, Victorian architecture, cable cars and beautiful vistas. Just remember: Don’t call it Frisco and do bring warm clothing. The famous quote “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco” isn’t from Mark Twain but it is a pretty accurate statement of San Francisco’s weather. An overview of the top tourist attractions in San Francisco.

Tiburon is an incorporated town in Marin County, California. It is located on the Tiburon Peninsula, which reaches south into the San Francisco Bay. It shares a ZIP code with the smaller incorporated city of Belvedere (formerly a separate island), which occupies the southwest part of the peninsula and is contiguous with Tiburon. Besides Belvedere and Tiburon, much of the peninsula is unincorporated, including portions of the north side and the communities of Strawberry and Paradise Cay.

10 Best Places To Live In California - Moving To California

In this video we will discover top 10 Best Places To Live In California:

California is not limited to Los Angeles and San Francisco. Even though San Francisco comes first in our top of the most beautiful cities in this fantastic state. The state of cinema, but also of wine and great forests. Beaches of course, necessarily surfing and these charming villages, perfect for counterbalancing the bustle of the big cities. California which offers an astonishing variety of landscapes and an impressive number of magnificent cities. Choosing only 10 cities to live in California was particularly difficult ...

1- Santa Monica.

2- San Francisco.

3- San Diego.
California is one of the most culturally diverse states in America, and few capture it better than San Diego. It is the largest city in California after L.A., with a population of 1.35 million.
San Diego, considered one of the best places in the world to live, is truly a melting pot of cultures.

4- Los Angeles.
Moving to Los angeles, the city of angels is an immense patchwork of districts with eclectic stories and atmospheres. We will mention Hollywood and its Walk of Fame, Downtown Los Angeles and its theaters, Malibu and its dream beaches, but above all, because Los Angles is not just a city of entertainment, the Getty Center in West LA, complex museum which offers the art collections of billionaire Jean Paul Getty in a sensational setting. A unique place of its kind with, as a bonus, a splendid panorama of the city.

5- Sacramento.
A legend of the West, the capital of California deserves a linger in its historic center, where sweets, pubs and restaurants occupy low-rise timber and brick houses. A detour through the California State Railroad Museum reminds us how much its history is linked to that of the American railroad. And if exercise is more your thing, hop on your bike and follow the American River Bicyle Trail from where you can see ancient steamers.

6- Santa Barbara.
Santa Barbara County is a beautiful place, like 435,000 people (the small town of Santa Barbara is home to 90,000).
The county has some of California's most scenic scenes, and there's a reason it's been dubbed the American Riviera.

7- Newport Beach.
The seaside community located in Orange County is one of the best places to live in California.
