In this video we take you to the lesser known, local favorite beaches in the Tamarindo and Flamingo areas. The beaches are Puerto Viejo de Conchal, Playa Mina, Playa Real, Playa Nombre de Jesus, Playa Roble and Playa Ventanas. Excellent for a day of exploring and getting away from crowds.

Hey guys hope you're having a great day so far and welcome to another Mytanfeet video. I'm Samantha and here is part 2 of beaches you can visit from Tamarindo.
The first beach in this video is called Puerto Viejo. a 30 minute drive from Tamarindo.
Something to note in this video is that all these beaches do normally require a 4wd, 4x4 to get there. It's definitely part of the adventure and one of the reasons why these beaches are ideal for those who like to explore and Puerto Viejo is a highly recommended beach for those who like to see something beyond the tourist destinations.
This beach, Puerto Viejo is actually the other end of Playa Conchal and as you can see, Playa Conchal is right over there.
Puerto Viejo is a favorite beach with locals since it's very laid back with less tourists. It's excellent for families and you can swim and sunbathe or rent snorkel gear or stand up paddle boards for more fun.
The next beach in this video is Playa Mina. On Google Maps, it is called Playa Zapotillal but is locally known as Mina. It is just a 10 minute drive from Puerto Viejo.
Playa Mina is another local beach we highly recommend you to visit from Tamarindo. It's one of our personal favorite beaches and we love taking our friends and family here.
Playa Mina has soft tan sand and if you swim, just be a bit careful because waves here can get very strong. There's plenty of trees on the beach for shade and this is another favorite for local families.
The next beach is Playa Real and there are actually a couple of beaches you can visit at the same time since they're all connected or very close to one another.
This is Playa Real, another beautiful local beach and you can keep walking that way and that is another beach called Nombre de Jesus.
Playa Real and Nombre de Jesus are not just beautiful beaches but they are also sea turtle nesting sites. During the nesting season, you can hire a guide to take a night time turtle nesting tour and during the day, you can swim in the waves, take in the breathtaking coastal views or bathe in the tidepools during low tide.
Then if you continue south of Playa Real, you can walk around the corner to another nice beach called Playa Roble.
The last beach in this video is Playa Ventanas.
This is Playa Ventanas and this is another we recommend to visit from Tamarindo. It's actually on the other side of Playa Grande and you can walk from Grande to Venatanas.
Ventanas is a 35 minute drive from Tamarindo and you can drive directly there or walk there from Playa Grande as the two beaches are connected. Ventanas is better for swimming as it generally has calmer waves than Grande and has lovely tan sand.
