TRYING ECUADORS MOST POPULAR FOOD // ECUADOR TRAVEL VLOG
We tried Ecuadors most popular food as we traveled across the small but mighty country! We had no idea what to expect when we started trying Ecuadorian food, but we discovered it is commonly full of plantain, cheese, and deliciousness! Often times we really weren't sure what we were trying, so we just dug in and tried all the Ecuadorian food we could during our 7 weeks in the country.
We got some great suggestions from local friends who told us where to eat in Banos, what dishes we had to try during our time in Ecuador, and what parts of the country would be best for what foods! We ate as many of the most popular Ecuadorian foods that we possibly could, which meant we had a lot of firsts for us!
In this video we try (for the first time) llapingacho con chorizo, fitada con cuero, platano maduro con queso, tigrillo, bolon, Ecuadorian ceviche, hornado, mote pillo, morocho, tostados, and encebollados! Some dishes were definitely better than others, and in the end our favourites were llapingacho and hornado - who do you think liked which one best?!

Here David presents a video to Parque Seminario, better known as Iguana Park. Where locals and tourists come to hang out and relax, you can enjoy the park's green surroundings, chill atmosphere, and local wildlife. Find squirrels, birds and turtles in this park... and of course- iguanas. Pick them up, feed them, show them off to your friends, but be careful, they may even jump on you! Head to Guayaquil's Iguana Park for both a relaxed day and an unforgettable reptilian experience.

Portoviejo, capital of the Manabi province, located in the western lowlands region of Ecuador. With 280.000 inhabitants it's the political and economical capital of the region. Portoviejo is a large commercial center for the province, where there are two shopping malls, one with a large hypermarket, 8 movie theaters, food court, and other stores. There is a large flea market in downtown. Locals are very friendly and very well educated. The city is home of the cancer treatment hospital Dr Julio Villacreses Colmont serving the provinces of Manabí and Esmeraldas. Portoviejo is the perfect place to enjoy traditional Manabí cuisine, of great fame in Ecuador, usually at countryside restaurants located on the side of the Portoviejo-Crucita roadway. The local airport is used for domestic flights. This city is one of the oldest in Ecuador. Portoviejo is currently recovering from a devastating earthquake on 16th of April 2016. 676 people lost their lives and lost many beloved ones. Ecuador was broken. It mourned and cried. This was a national disaster that no one could have seen coming nor preventing. Today, Portoviejo is recovering with the help of Ecuador. Ecuador was more unified then ever..

La parroquia Riochico, es una parroquia rural del Ecuador, perteneciente al cantón Portoviejo de la provincia de Manabí.Riochico es una de las parroquias más antiguas del cantón Portoviejo. Esta se destaca por la elaboración de hamacas de hilos, su gastronomía es muy variada entre ella tenemos: tortillas de maíz de dulce y de queso, humitas de choclo, seco de gallina y caldo de criolla, bollos de plátano con maní y productos de la zona. Se considera a esta parroquia como una de las más antiguas de la provincia.
