I've been exploring Romanian places since I was a little girl, but the area that I've explored the most is in the north, especially the Bucovina area. I was born in Suceava, so almost yearly I went to some place close to it that was very beautiful, for example Rarau, Palma or monasteries. I think this is one of the most beautiful regions in Romania.
I've also explored more of Romania too, when I grew up more. I've been to Brasov around 3 times, Sibiu 4 or 5 times, for example.

Romania is a fascinating country in Eastern Europe, with beautiful landscapes, a rich history, and a lively culture. From the tall Carpathian Mountains to the pretty countryside and old towns, Romania has a little something for everyone.

Food in Romania is delicious and reflects the country's history. You have to try sarmale, which are rolls made of cabbage and filled with meat, rice, and spices. Mămăligă is a traditional dish made of cornmeal, similar to polenta, and it's often served with cheese. For dessert, papanasi is a tasty treat, like doughnuts with a cheese filling.
Romanians are friendly and proud of their culture. Folklore, music, and festivals are an important part of their traditions and celebrations, and you'll get a chance to experience these lively customs firsthand.

We started our roadtrip around Romania with the north (because we live there), so we first went to Neamt Citadel. The entrance is very cheap, you have free parking, and you don't have to walk a lot to reach it. Neamt Citadel (Cetatea Neamt) was pretty recently restored, so it's an amazing place to put on your bucket list.
Neamt citadel is a historic fortress nestled in the picturesque landscape of Neamt County, Romania. This impressive citadel is a symbol of strength and resilience, dating back to the medieval times.
Neamt Citadel is located on a hilltop, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. Its strategic position allowed it to serve as a defensive stronghold against invaders throughout history.
One interesting fact about Neamt Citadel is its architectural style. It combines elements of Byzantine, Gothic, and Renaissance influences, showcasing a unique blend of design. Inside the citadel, you'll find a range of structures, including towers, walls, and a central courtyard. Exploring the fortress allows you to imagine what life was like within its walls centuries ago.
Neamt Citadel is also home to a museum that showcases artifacts and displays related to its history. Visitors can learn about the fortress's role in protecting the region and the cultural significance it holds for the local community.
The next on our list was Bicaz Gorge, which is very close to Red Lake, where we took a boat ride later. This is a spectacular road pass, even though it's pretty short, it's very beautiful and you have amazing mountains views.
Bicaz Gorge is a natural wonder nestled in the heart of Romania. This stunning gorge, also known as Cheile Bicazului, is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers.
Bicaz Gorge is carved by the Bicaz River and features towering limestone cliffs that stretch high into the sky. As you drive through the winding road that cuts through the gorge, you'll be amazed by the dramatic scenery and breathtaking views. The rocks that form the gorge are millions of years old, showcasing layers of sediment and unique formations that tell a story of the earth's ancient past.
The gorge is also home to an abundance of flora and fauna. As you explore the area, you may spot various species of birds, small mammals, and even rare plant species that thrive in this diverse ecosystem.

Hiking on Cozla Hill, Dealul Cozla, Piatra Neamt, Romania - travel video vlog calatorie tourism
In the northern part of the town of Piatra Neamt rises the Cozla hill, with altitudes of 620 m in the point called Three Hills and 679 m in the point Three Boilers (near the village of Gârcina). Mount Cozla has the shape of an elongated ridge from north to south and is made up of layers of different marls, clay shales, layers rich in fossils of fish and algae, also represented at the Museum of Natural Sciences in Piatra Neamț.
În partea de nord a orașului Piatra Neamț se înalță dealul Cozla, cu altitudini de 620 m în punctul numit „Trei Dealuri” și 679 m în punctul „Trei Cazane” (în apropierea satului Gârcina). Muntele Cozla are forma unei creste alungite de la nord la sud și este alcătuit din straturi de diferite marne, șisturi argiloase, straturi bogate în fosile de pești și alge, reprezentate și la Muzeul de Științe ale Naturii din Piatra Neamț.

Primăria Municipiului Piatra-Neamț a organizat în perioada 23-27 iunie evenimentul „Piatra Fest”, prilejuit de Zilele Orașului Piatra-Neamț. Pe parcursul celor cinci zile de sărbătoare au avut loc manifestări cultural-artistice, concerte, un festival gastronomic și evenimente religioase dedicate sărbătorii Nașterii Sfântului Ioan Botezătorul, patronul spiritual al orașului. Festivalul gastronomic Piatra Food Fest s-a desfășurat în Piața Ștefan cel Mare, zona din fața Parcului Central, ce a fost transformată în acea perioadă în pietonal, spectacolele la scenă s-au desfasurat în Piața Curtea Domnească.
