Embracing Adventure in Jinja: Overcoming Fear with a Bungee Jump on The Nile
The Ugandan other city of Jinja is every tourist's top most destination due to its amazing places and activities to do along the world's longest river, The NILE.
Bungee jumping on The Nile is the most extreme sport or thing I've ever done in my life.
It taught me one thing, 'You're the only person holding yourself back So I'll never hold myself back ever! AND SO SHOULDN'T YOU.
The whole Jinja trip was an excellent one. It was such a huge opportunity for me to meet my old friends, get touch with nature, but mostly, try out a life clarifying and changing thing. I'm glad I was able to do it.
Jinja - a destination where beauty and serenity slay together.
Till the time when you visit Jinja you don't really understand the importance of visiting and staying in a beautiful place like Jinja but when you move to Jinja you will realise how so different and beautiful it is from other destinations.
If we talk about the places to visit it is a hub of tourist spots. From Flat water canoeing, River boarding (Fishing, Swimming and bird watching), Kayaking, Water Rafting, Bungee Jumping, Quad biking, Water sport, Rock climbing, Horse riding on the Nile, Paragliding, Cultural sites, Source of the Nile and Historic sites. It is close to destinations like Busowooko falls, Itanda falls, Kalagala Falls, Ssezibwa falls, Mabira Forest, Griffin Falls etc.
Also the people of Jinja are simple, helpful and very welcoming. The simplicity of ‘Basoga’ people with their hospitality will definitely make you fall in love with them.
Jinja boasts of a vibrant and robust nightlife. With dozens of bars including Bebes, Leo, Spot six, night clubs like Sombreros and Mayfair, casinos, including the Nile View Casino, one can be spoilt for choice while in Jinja. Let's go we slay in Jinja

Nile River Source in JINJA, UGANDA & Ripon Fishing Village on Lake Victoria! Epic local experiences
My visit to Jinja, Uganda was full of authentic local experiences. After a great stay at the Igar Plaza Hotel, I caught a boda-boda and headed to the Ripon Fishing Village for a guided tour of this quaint settlement on the shores of Lake Victoria. From there, I explored Jinja's bustling and tourist-friendly Main Street to check out the city's cafes and art galleries. After, I caught another boda-boda to the Bourbon Restaurant to check out the source of the Nile River. Here, I enjoyed a cold Nile Special lager while relaxing on the riverside of the world's longest river. Jinja is truly a hidden gem, and one of the most welcoming and friendly tourist destinations on the planet - I could not recommend it more!

Jinja Uganda | Source of the Nile River
In This Video
Jinja, town located in southeastern Uganda where the Nile flows out of Lake Victoria, situated at an elevation of 3,740 feet (1,140 metres) above sea level. Jinja was founded in 1901 as a British administrative centre and grew to become one of the larger towns in Uganda. When construction on the Owen Falls Dam (now the Nalubaale Dam), 5 km (3 miles) downstream, was completed in 1954, the hydroelectric power thus provided was instrumental in Jinja’s development as the country’s main industrial centre. A second dam, Kiira, was later constructed about 0.6 mile (1 km) from Nalubaale. It was completed in 1999 and began producing hydroelectric power the next year. Industries include the first steel-rolling mill of eastern Africa, a copper smeltery, plywood and tobacco factories, and a grain-conditioning plant. Nearby are a brewery, a textile factory, and large sugar plantations. Products are transported by lake steamer as well as by rail and road. Jinja has rail links with Kampala (80 km [50 miles] southwest) and the port of Mombasa, Kenya. Pop. (2008 est.) 82,800.
