Dr. Fraser had build a watertank at the top of a hill for waterdistribution of Lui Hospital. That was in the year 1920. This tank is still there. Amazing!

What happens to the cross runway 14/32 when the new runway opens?

Mark Davies from the Royal Flying Doctor Service explains what will happen to cross runway 14/32 when the new runway opens in mid-2020.

Brisbane’s new runway is the completion of long-term planning for Brisbane Airport which commenced in the 1970s. Construction of the new runway began in 2012, with the official opening on Sunday 12 July 2020.

The new runway gives Brisbane the most efficient runway system in Australia. It will serve the needs of South East Queensland for decades to come, maintaining and growing our connections with the world as our city continues to grow, while building the gateway to Queensland & Australia.

In October 2023, I flew on an Uzbekistan Airways Let L-410 from Tashkent (TAS) to Bukhara (BHK) with a stop in Zomin (OMN). Zomin Airport was Uzbekistan's newest airport at that time, having been opened just a month earlier, on September 1st, 2023.
