Things to do in USHUAIA, Argentina 🇦🇷 | Ushuaia Travel Guide - the City at the End of the World! 🐧
Hello and greetings from Ushuaia, Argentina where we'll cover the top things to do in this Ushuaia travel guide from this fascinating city at the end of the world! Today we’re going to be visiting the southernmost city in the world, located in the province of Tierra del Fuego at the very bottom of Argentina.
This was the final stop of our massive trip across Patagonia and we’ll be sharing some of the best things to do in Ushuaia during your visit. Join us as we cruise the Beagle Channel, ride the train to the end of the world, send a postcard from the southernmost post office, tour a former prison-turned museum, explore the city via double-decker bus, and more!
The following is our Ushuaia travel guide! We hope this video gives you a few ideas of the many tours, attractions and experiences you can enjoy here!
🇦🇷 Things to do in Ushuaia, Argentina 🇦🇷
1) Cruise the Beagle Channel This is a great opportunity to see some wildlife like cormorants, penguins and sea lions! Bring your passport on the cruise because you can get a Beagle Channel stamp.
2) See the Lighthouse and End of the World Often attributed as Jules Verne's lighthouse at the end of the world, this lighthouse's real name is Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse.
3) Admire the Penguins on Hammer Island Not all tour operators are allowed to disembark at the penguin rookery, so in our case, we just admired them from the boat!
4) Go on a Double-Decker Bus Tour of Ushuaia Picture an old-fashioned double-decker bus painted bright blue, and then get ready to be transported back through time as you set step aboard. Over the course of the tour you’ll get to learn about Ushuaia’s history and hear fun anecdotes, with a bit of tango music in between.
5) Visit the Prison at the End of the World Ushuaia was founded as a penal colony and this prison was in operation between 1902 to 1947. Today, it houses multiple museums including the Prison Museum, the Maritime Museum, the Antarctic Museum, the Art Museum, and the Art Gallery.
6) Tour the Themed Gallery of Fuegian History This is a museum featuring dioramas and lifelike figures that showcase the history of the province of Tierra del Fuego. The visit is done as a self-guided tour with an audio guide, so you can go at your own pace.
7) Visit the End of the World Museum This museum deals with local history and natural history. The displays here focus on local wildlife and shipwreck remains.
8) Visit the Former Government House + Botanical Garden Set in the former Government House, this museum has a couple of displays relating to its history, as well as a small botanical garden.
9) Sample the Local Cuisine Ushuaia has lots of unique seafood dishes and the thing to try is the king crab!
10) Go on a Walk along the Harbour Another thing we’d recommend doing in Ushuaia is walking along the Costanera, which is the boardwalk along the waterfront. You can see all sorts of vessels in the harbour, including cruises departing for Antarctica.
11) See the Saint Christopher Once known as the HMS Justice, this was a Royal Navy ship classified as a rescue tug and it served at the Normandy landings during World War 2. After the war, the ship was sold and renamed Saint Christopher, where it was chartered for salvage operations in Beagle Channel.
12) Take a photo at the Ushuaia City Sign This is an iconic photo-op to show you made it to the end of the world.
13) Hike in Tierra del Fuego National Park This is a very easy day trip from Ushuaia seeing as the park is located just 12 kilometres west of the city. This park consists of subantarctic forest and boasts some dramatic landscapes featuring snow-capped mountains, forests, lagoons and pebbly coves. One of our favourite hikes was Senda Costera, which is the coastal trail along the Beagle Channel.
14) Visit Lapataia Bay This part of the national park features 6 mini trails that are between 400 meters and 2 kilometres in length. They are very short hikes and easy.
15) Send mail from the Southernmost Post Office This tiny post office sits atop a pier on the shores of the Beagle Channel and it’s the last chance to send mail before reaching Antarctica.
16) Ride the Train at the End of the World Once upon a time, this was known as the train of prisoners, but today, the train has been developed into a heritage train and it’s considered the southernmost functioning railway in the world.
17) Take a Day trip to Tolhuin This is a small town located an hour and a half away from Ushuaia. The main draw to this town is its famous bakery, where you can enjoy all sorts of pastries, empanadas, and even artisanal chocolates. Aside from that, there is a beautiful lake and a few hiking trails.
That concludes our Ushuaia travel guide! We hope you enjoyed getting to see the southernmost city in the world. Ushuaia has plenty of unique attractions and fun excursions to offer visitors; it’s well worth adding to your Argentina itinerary if you’re planning to travel in Patagonia!

A tour of La Boca Barrio (Caminito) in Buenos Aires, Argentina
One of the most colorful and touristy areas you can visit in Buenos Aires is Caminito located in the heart of La Bocca Barrio (nieghborhood). Here you can enjoy overpriced meals, tango shows, souvenir shopping and people watching as you marvel at all of the colorful architecture. Nearby is where the Boca Juniors football club plays its home games. Overall, we feel it's worth a visit but is not an area you'd need to linger or return again.
A tour of La Boca Barrio (Caminito) in Buenos Aires, Argentina Travel Video Transcript:
So new vlog from Buenos Aires. Today we are visiting a neighborhood called La Boca. And it is know for its very colorful buildings and it is actually very touristy which means the prices here are quite high. Yeah, we just got absolutely fleeced for lunch. It was one of the most expensive meals we've had in South America and it was to be honest disgusting. But you know what we got charged one price for pasta and then like an extra five dollars for the tomato sauce. And then they charged us, with my parents, and they charged us like what like almost fifteen dollars for service. It was outrageous. Anyways, we're going to make the most of this afternoon and forget about that awful meal. Let's forget the meal and go sightseeing.
This tree has a knit sweater.
So to tell you a little bit about the neighborhood. It was settled by Italian immigrants and this area is in the southeast end of the city and it is right at the mouth of the river and that is how Boca gets its name. Boca, means mouth. Um, and yeah, there are a few streets that are very touristy; however, if you wander away from Caminito and that general area it is a little rough around the edges so we're going to try and show you both sides. Touristy Boca and regular old Boca.
So right now this is touristy Boca. Lots of restaurants. You can watch Tango shows on the street. Yes, you can pose and pretend to be a tango dancer. Yes, you can pose with football players who looks like famous football players. Yeah, there is a guy who looks like Maradona. And he even has a beer belly just like him. Impressive! And you can also buy souvenirs. There is a flea market around here and also just lots of souvenir shops. You can lighten the load of your wallet. A great place to do that.
So Sam, you don't really follow football but can you tell us who you are standing next to? I don't follow football but I know enough that is Maradona. The only and only. Maradona!
Little anecdote for us. Yes, one of the funniest comments we've had on our YouTube channel recently was during our Cholitas wrestling match. Someone said the referee looked just like Maradona. And now that I'm seeing Maradona statues all over the place and impersonators. That was a very very clever observation. He totally did. He totally looked like Maradona.
And now for a spin around less touristy Boca. Yeah. No crowds here. It's a lot quieter. A lot quieter, we're just walking along the rail-tracks. We're actually heading towards the stadium. Yes, because football is a big deal here. This is where Boca Juniors comes from. And, oh, they love their futbol. Yes, they do.
And we came all the way to Boca to meet Messi. Number 10.
So for the hardcore football fans another cool thing you can do in Buenos Aires is visit the Boca Juniors stadium. It is called La Bombonera and that means the chocolate box. I don't really think it looks like a chocolate box. I mean it is this giant yellow stadium. A colorful chocolate box. But yeah, it is right over there. So let's go check it out.
Final thoughts. Boca! Boca! Okay. I've been to Boca once before and I think one visit is probably enough. I mean, once you've seen the touristy bits there isn't a whole lot to do in my opinion. Um, so yeah nice for like half day visit I'd say. Maybe have a meal but not in the main road or you'll get ripped off. A one time only deal. One time only. I agree with you. I totally agree with you. Yeah. Yep. Okay. Good!

Tour of ALTO PALERMO Argentina - Shopping in Buenos Aires - Travel Argentina
Welcome to the 4k City Walk YouTube channel. In this video, I take a stroll at one of my favorite shopping malls in Buenos Aires called Alto Palermo. The mall houses 150 commercial establishments with well-known brands such as Nike, Levis, Zara, 47 Street, Adidas, Bensimon, Cacharel, Caro Cuore, Cheeky, Hush Puppies, Kevingston, Lacoste, Puma, and more.
After a long day of shopping, nothing beats taking a break and enjoying a meal in the food court of the Alto Palermo Shopping Center, where you can unwind while exploring the menus of local restaurants and fast-food chains.
Alto Palermo was one of the first shopping centers in Buenos Aires, and was the work of Juan Carlos López y Asociados. It is located in one of Buenos Aires' most densely inhabited areas, a little over four kilometers from the city's central business district. The shopping center's three levels are organized along a primary axis that is parallel to but somewhat bent to Avenida Coronel Daz.
