Bray Harbour in IRELAND

Bray Harbour in IRELAND

Bray Harbour is located at the mouth of the Dargle River, in the Little Bray locality. It is approximately ten miles south of Dublin Bay, and is the most northern harbour in Co. Wicklow. The harbour is utilised for solely marine leisure activities. It is a popular area for leisurely walks, with many people taking time out to enjoy the swan sanctuary.

Although it is a small harbour, it is a vibrant and active one with many leisure activities taking place throughout the year. The clubs utilising this amenity include Bray Sailing Club, Bray Sea Anglers, Bray Sea Scouts, Bray Youth services, Row-A-Round and Bray Veteran Kayakers. There is a large active membership in these clubs. A local water sports adventure company also arranges and manages their many water activities in the harbour.

Bray Train Station is a short distance walk away from this busy marine facility. A coffee shop and bistro are located beside the harbour, with many more restaurants and amenities situated on the Bray seafront, which is adjacent to the harbour.

Killruddery House & Gardens | Wicklow Adventures

While Ireland went back into level 5 lockdown, we had to start our back-garden adventures again. Our latest adventure brought us to Killruddery House and Gardens in Bray. Just off the N11, Killruddery house and gardens is such a great place to visit. The Grain Store café has great food. A little pricey but its worth it, and the views from the gardens of the Sugar loaf are amazing! Due to Covid, the house itself was closed to visitors, but regardless, it was definitely worth the trip!!

Come with me as I chase cold exposure in Ireland. I'd planned to get into the Milford Wier. Then continue exploring the beautiful Ireland, discovering the hidden waterfalls at Clogleagh Bridge Cascade. Then onto Lough Bray Upper for a second cold water swim.

WICKLOW: Stunning landscape - Belmont Demesne

Today we visited Belmont Demesne, Great Sugarloaf and Little Sugarloaf in County Wicklow.

Belmont Demesne is an outdoor adventure centre with amazing bike and walking trails for all levels. There are stunning woodlands and spectacular views of the coast.

Belmont Bike Farm has 15 kms of fantastic trails that cover a diverse range of natural routes. You can bring your own bike or one.

There is a map at the entrance where walking and cycle routes are well marked. Here is their website, you can check the map for all the trails, and you can find any updates/information you may need:

You can walk from here to The Little Sugarloaf hill but Belmont has its own trail.

Little Sugarloaf is 342 tall, it has a distinctive profile of a rocky double summit. We would say that it is a moderate walk.

The Great Sugarloaf is around 10 minutes drive from The Little Sugarloaf. It's only 501 metres tall, but this plucky hill is one of Ireland's most iconic peaks. It is a moderate walk but it gets a little more difficult near the top.

You can check this link for more information and the map:

10 Places You Must Visit in Ireland

The first thing that comes to mind when most people think of Ireland is its lush green countryside. And there’s no doubt that the Irish landscape is one of its biggest draws. But there’s more to Ireland than just its rural idylls. The country is also home to some of the most vibrant and exciting cities in Europe. Dublin, the capital, is a must-see, with its medieval castles, Georgian architecture, and lively nightlife. Cork, Galway, and Belfast are also well worth a visit.
