Trams of Australia

Trams are a major form of public transport in Melbourne, the capital city of the state of Victoria, Australia. As of May 2017, the Melbourne tramway network consists of 250 kilometres (160 miles) of double track, 493 trams, 24 routes, and 1,763 tram stops.[3] The system is the largest operational urban tram network in the world. Trams are the second most used form of public transport in overall boardings in Melbourne after the commuter railway network, with a total of 206 million passenger trips in 2017–18.

The Canberra light rail network, also known as Canberra Metro, is a light rail system serving the city of Canberra, Australia. The initial 12-kilometre (7.5 mi) line links the northern town centre of Gungahlin to the city centre (Civic) and has 14 stops. Services commenced on 20 April 2019. A 14th stop at Sandford Street in Mitchell commenced operation in September 2021.

An extension of the line south to the Woden Town Centre is currently being planned. Early works on the southern extension (Stage 2A to Commonwealth Park) are set to commence in 2021 with plans due for submission around October. Planning of the remainder of the extension (Stage 2B to Woden) will continue while construction of Stage 2A is underway.

The Sydney light rail network (or Sydney Light Rail) is a light rail system serving the city of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The network currently consists of three passenger routes, the L1 Dulwich Hill, L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford lines. The network comprises 42 stops and a system length of 24.7 km (15.3 mi), making it the second largest light rail network in Australia behind the Yarra Trams network in Melbourne, Victoria.

The network is managed by Transport for NSW, with day-to-day operation contracted to Transdev. In 2021, 14.1 million passenger journeys were made on the network.

MLR Prymont-Lilyfield

The MLR is Sydney's tram line, soon to be tram network. The only reason that it is still about 15 km long, not 25 km is due to some Liberal Pollies laying on their backsides.
