In this video I explore Sicily, Italy. I visit towns in the South East region of Sicily, including Catania, Noto, Syracuse and Ortigia. Sicily is a fascinating island in the South of Italy, with a rich mix of culture, history, food and the friendliest locals in Italy! I explore the bustling fish market in Catania, as well as try some popular Catanese dishes like pasta alla norma and eggplant caponata, I also feel adventurous enough to try the Catania specialty, horse meat burgers! I then visit the beautiful region of Noto and do some wine tasting of the famous nero d'avola red wine at a beautiful vineyard. Noto is a beautiful town known for it's sandstone cathedrals. I also visit the seaside town of Syracuse and Ortigia which have some incredible ancient Greek sites like the archeological park of Syracuse.

A HUGE thank you to Renato for such a fun tour of Catania, I highly recommend his tour. Here is the link:

Welcome to Inspire Time channel! In this video, we used a drone to fly over some of Sicily's most beautiful locations. They are Buccheri, Castelvetrano, Enna Hinterland, and Falconara's Castel.

Sicily is one of the most densely populated islands in the Mediterranean Sea. It's the largest Mediterranean island, is just off the toe of Italy's boot. It lies about 100 miles (160 km) northeast of Tunisia (northern Africa) The island is separated from the mainland by the Strait of Messina. Its strategic location at the center of the Mediterranean has made the island a crossroads of history.

Ragusa is one of the most picturesque towns in Sicily - Italy 🇮🇹

Ragusa is another Sicilian city with a long history of regional importance. Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs, Byzantines, Normans have all left their mark. Under the Norman Monarchy Ragusa was the seat of a Norman Count and a powerful castle dominated the town. Less important through the years of Spanish rule the town was devastated by a major earthquake in 1693. Some 5000 inhabitants are thought to have died during the quake. Afterwards a new town was built on the hill above Ragusa and Ragusa Superiore (Upper Ragusa) was born. It along with the old town, now Ragusa Inferiore (Lower Ragusa) were rebuilt with many glorious baroque buildings. In the 20th century Ragusa suffered for its anti fascist stance but has today emerged as an increasingly prosperous industrial focus. It also is attracting tourists made aware of its beauty through watching the popular TV series Montalbano. Ragusa features heavily as the location for many scenes of that police drama. We spent a couple of nights enjoying this wonderful city.

Climbing Churches // Noto, Italy

Take 17: 10th stop on my European Adventure! Noto, Sicily known for it's old beautifully architected churches and theatres full of bright red chairs and the famous Flower Festival! The festival wasn't on when I went, however, there were a set of stairs that had flowers painted on the sides and chalk drawing on sidewalks where they place the flowers in arrangements. It is a small but cute town to visit for the day.
